Magic/Wonder 1 bed suites... need options.

On the Wonder 8102 does have a bathtub in the master bath. We've stayed in that cabin twice.
This is where the difference in ships comes into play - 8102 on the Wonder has a tub in the master bath and 8102 on the Magic does not.

Wasn't it that they both ...on both ships, I mean...used to have tubs in the master, but they took them out? Or at least took them out on the Magic? Or is it the opposite...that neither of them did? I can't remember now if the tub was or wasn't there the two times I was in 8602. Once in '04 and once in '09, but they were both on the Magic.

Oh yeah, that was clear as mud.

I think I remember reading that 8602 on the Wonder does not have a bath and 8102 does.

I think since they are HA's the and the Magic was the first ship in service it didn't have the tub, but when the Wonder was built they put one in at least one of the HA's. I don't think they would have removed or added them after the ships were in service.

A room report for Wonder 8102 says "two full HA bathrooms". To me that means no tubs. :confused3 That report was from 2010. I have not been in the rooms. If 8102 has a tub, does 8602 on the Wonder. Surprisingly no room report on that one. And in the reports, they group all the ships under same room #. Make for easy mistakes if not reading carefully.

I was just trying to add the tub situation to this detailed Cat T chat. :)

Just to keep people confused. ::yes::

In the master in room 8602 on the Magic, there WAS originally a shower (if you look at my pictures) straight across from the toilet, and you could tell that at one time, there WAS a tub in the larger area across from the sinks. But they'd removed it and made a much larger shower area, with a seat in it.

Which ship are those pics from?

The showers are HA, but the master bath has the tub. I've stayed in that suite twice and know it's there since I put our dirty towels in it.

I thought I remember hearing that 8602 on the Wonder did not have tub but I'm not completely sure.

Darn! They do for me, when I click the link. These pictures and more from someone else, are in the "Virtual Stateroom Tour" under "Staterooms" on the main page thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966

Sticky....DIS DCL FAQ Alphabetized

Pics show with IE but not Firefox. Ususally it's the other way around for me. :confused3 Whatever. No biggie, I will never book these cabins.
Just trying to put all info in one thread for all. :goodvibes

We were in 8102 on the wonder this last year and our 4 year old took a bath every night. The one in the master bed area has a tub. :-)

Master in 8602 on the Magic.

In relation to the picture I just posted, where was the tub?
I'm almost certain there used to be one in 8602 on both the Magic and the Wonder, where the larger shower is now.

The bathroom layout is different in 8102 on the Wonder. The tub is across from the double vanity and then you go thru another doorway to the commode and shower.

That would be more like the two bedroom and Royal master baths, then, right? Only without the step-up, since it's H/C.

Yes, but the section that has the commode and shower is much smaller than the 2 bedroom's same area. I don't remember if 8102 on the Wonder had a door or not between the 2 areas.

We have been in 8602 and a mid ship cat 3 and the HA ones are probably at least 25% bigger (I want to say more than that but not 100% sure). As mentioned the balcony is huge. We have also had 8100 which is also HA (we were on the wait list and offered the rooms at the PIF date) and I think is bigger again. I prefer 8602/8102 though as they have patio doors off the master bedroom while 8100/8600 don't. Neither had a bath on the magic which was the one downside.

8102 on the Wonder has a door between master and living room . No Murphy bed , sleeps 4. It does have a bath tub in the master bathroom .
Balcony doors from both bedroom and living room . Great views from balcony but could get windy and no privacy in mornings during breakfast service . Lots of noise and vibration during some dockings ... All in all great location and great room ..

And again a reminder.....on both the Magic and the Wonder, 8600, 8602, 8100 and 8102 are HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE ROOMS. Please don't book these rooms if you don't have needs!! Thank you.

I do understand that people w/o needs are assigned these rooms if they are close to sailing date and the rooms aren't reserved, that's not what I'm talking about.

With respect, I disagree with this. These four cabins are very nice for anyone and should not be reserved simply for "those with needs". There are very few cabins of this category and booking should be the same for all. There are other handicap rooms in other categories so these should not be reserved considering the trouble we all go through to book these cruises.

I was placed in 8102 on our first cruise on the Wonder almost 10 years ago when a waitlist opened up. I've cruised in 8102 on the Magic ever since. That being said, if a family needed one of these cabins and they book as early as I do, I would not hesitate to take a different Cat 3 so that the other family could take advantage of the handicap amenities.
