Day 2 - Key West

We ate breakfast at Topsiders buffet. It was very good. I love smoked salmon and rarely eat it at home. This was the perfect opportunity to pig out. Pig out I did.
We went to the Buena Vista Theatre and watched a movie about the rennovation of the Magic last summer. It was very interesting.

We relaxed and took advantage of a semi-empty ship. We sat around the pool, swam and hot tubbed. It's the life I was born to live.

Later in the day we decided to explore Key West. My DH was thrilled when he saw the Mel Fisher Atchoa museum. We spent a couple of hours there. I was interested. It was an OK experience for me. DH took on a glazed look and appeared to be in a trance. This museum is right up his alley. The Discovery Channel had come to life for him. It's always extra rewarding to find something you had not planned. I enjoyed watching him. We ended up in the gift shop. They actually sell items found on board the ship. I wanted an emerald ring. It was a mere $590,000.00. After all it was Mother's Day. DH decided to buy me a slice of key lime pie instead. I was happy.

We found a bakery (sorry I forget the name). The storefront had HUGE chocolate chip cookies. We walked in and they were baking cookies. The smell of chocolate was seductive - but we stayed strong and opted for key lime pie as after all this was Key West. The lady in the bakery was from Poland and was delighted to talk to DH about our name - as his Grandparents came from Poland. The pie was to die for.

We walked up and down the streets. DH took a picture of me with a silver pirate. It turned out great - one of those Kodak moments.

We went back on board ship and fell into the blue chairs on Deck 4 - this was Nap one.

We had reservations for Palo's for Wednesday night. DH called to see if we could be waitlisted for tonight and they called back and said "Come on Up".
DH and I had the portobello mushroom appetizer - Wonderful
Emmanuel was our server - We loved him. For an entree we both had the filet - which was PERFECT!!! DH had the souffle for desert. My stomach didn't want anything that rich after the key lime pie so I got the sweet custard with berries. I am soooooo glad I got that - WOW - it was incrediable. The sunset was the most beautiful I have ever seen. It was as though Disney ordered it. This was the life I was born to live.

The show that night was "Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer". We enjoyed it very much. No one won the cruise - but everyone who played walked away with something. It was very good.

That night my DH snored up a storm. I was on the verge of ending it all for him with pillow in hand and suffocation on my mind. I rememered I had planned for this. Not only did I buy ear plugs, I had them conveniently placed in the drawer right next to me. Silence and I was asleep again. He may never know how close he came. Ha
