Magic Today

Can you see the Magic today at Grand Cayman on the port cam? If so, does someone have the link?

I believe someone posted that the ship is going to skip the calls at Key West and Grand Cayman this week and head straight for Cozumel, then call at Nassau or Freeport on the way back, before Castaway Cay. If I read the report right, the cruise would look like:

Sun - at sea
Mon - Late arrival at Cozumel (4:00pm?)
Tue - Cozumel
Wed - at sea
Thur - Nassau
Fri - Castaway Cay

My understanding is the Magic was re-routed to avoid potential bad weather. The Magic skipped Grand Cayman and will be staying longer in Cozumel, then visiting Nassau.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I read this schedule change on another thread here.

That is correct, Paul. The Magic did go to Key West and did pick up a lot of additional passengers who were unable to get on board at Port Canaveral.

Lloyd Dobler was pretty close. The Magic went to Key West and left at the usual time Sunday night and then went "full steam ahead" from Key West to Cozumel so Monday was a "day at sea" but they arrived at Cozumel about 5:00 pm and spent the night leaving about 5:00pm or so today (Tuesday).

FYI, I think they normally overnight at Cozumel but don't usually get there till late so guests aren't allowed ashore till the morning.

According to DD, it was definately an overnighter at Cozumel, followed by Nassau and Castaway Cay. No GC this week. Nat

We were on the 7/17 Western and did not spend the night at Cozumel. We arrived on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am and left at 11:00 pm.

Overnight at Cozumel? Were there any functioning crewmembers left?

For those that don't know, That is the major party port on the Western for the crew- there's a number of good clubs/bars right at the end of the dock.

Coz is NOT an overnight stop. They usually leave late in the evening. The one time I remember that Coz was overnight was when it was to rough to anchor at Grand Cayman and the ship went "full steam ahead" to Coz and arrived late in the evening. And much of the crew had a very very good time ashore that night.

The Magic usually arrives at Coz between mid morning and noon.

This summer, one of the CMs told me that Disney is very strict when their crew "parties" at ports. He said that a friend of his was fired b/c he came back after partying too much.
