Magic stolen 3 times

we where at the magic kingdom for our last night there my boy bought one of those toys that spins and lights up it was a lilo and stich one where it spins and lights up well he had it thru the parade and it was to go home as his one and only souviner he bought with his own money after the parade we decided to go on splash mountain one last time and left the toy on the stroller under a sweater and when we got back it was gone and he was in tears i went back to the stores to save the day and buy another one but alas no lilo and stiches left and my then 7 yr old saying how disney is supposed to be safe and asking me how someone could steal his toy and with me thinking that was so rude but thank goodness i carry my camera and such on me in my kanaroo pouch. This yr when we go back it will be with us knowing stuff can and does get stolen even in the magic kingdom and dont worry mommy saved the day and conviced him a buzz lightyr light up is just as cool

Sorry, I don't have time to read the entire thread so sorry if I am repeating info others have mentioned. I am saddened by the stories I've read up so far. I just wanted to say that I wonder if it isn't necessarily Mousekeeping stealing from rooms, but other guests passing by. When we were at BC last week, I noticed that mousekeeping seemed to be working in teams and they would pull the lock bar out and leave a whole line of rooms basically open. I remember thinking that anyone passing by could slip in and grab what was available for the taking. It's hard to think that a mousekeeper would endanger her job over a toy, KWIM?

Umm, what did you say? It's rather hard to read your post without the punctuation. I hope everything turned out OK.

On my second trip I had money stolen from our room at ASMO, it was in a suitcase (we didnt bother using the safe, yes I know thats stupid!) and it was taken. I reported it to the manager but he didnt really seem interested, he just said that he would note it down. We always put valuable in the safe now!

I love that you both got involved (and didn't look the other way) when you saw people stealing right in front of you. :thumbsup2 It gives hope for humanity when people actually follow through and stand up for what's right.

I was thinking that you two would make an excellent crime fighting team in WDW!! :goodvibes

We just returned today from our 1st trip to WDW and I can't stop thinking about how 3 of our items were stolen from us.

1. My son left his Pirate Mickey Ears in his stroller under a sweatshirt when we went on a ride. Only to return 5 minutes later with no ears. Gone! Despite checking Lost in Found at Epcot numerous times never found.

2. My daughter left her autograph book at a Minnie display at a store in MGM, when we realized 2 minutes later we left it there, we returned but it was gone also. Again, the store clerk who sat right across from the stand and Lost and Found never showed up! It was filled out with her name and phone number, too!

3. The final episode was just last night in our room at Boardwalk. We have been returning nightly in excitement to see how my other daughter's Rock and Roll Minnie would be posed since we bought it on the first day. Yesterday, we posed her on the pillow before leaving for the day only to return with Minnie gone. The mousekeeping manager was wonderful bringing 3+ Minnies for her to choose from and giving her 2 in the end. She was great but i can't help but wonder where Minnie is. Also, a small WDW store bag that typically holds jewlry was stretched open (stapled shut). It only had a miniture mexican flag in it to their dismay.

Initially I was upset with my kids for not being responsible especially the book and hat. But then I was upset that WDW guests and housekeeping were so dishonest. It is a shame this affected our trip.

Regarding the third incident, it is unbelievable that anyone would risk their job for a Rock and Roll Minnie doll. They must realize that they could lose their job over this.

say that 10 times fast...

This thread makes me sad :( I've been questioning if I want to bring my laptop with me on my trip. I'll probably still end up doing it and hope that there is room in the safe for it.

We just got back on Friday night by Monday in the mail was two Autograph books that had been lost in Epcot on Wednesday. There are still more honest than dishonest people in the world.

I called PORFQ and the CM told me they do have room safes but they aren't big enough for a laptop...anyone stayed there and seen the safes?
All of the wall safes I've seen at any of the WDW resorts I've stayed in have an opening about the size of a standard envelope, and maybe about 2 inches deep.

I bring my laptop every time we stay at WDW (POR, OKW, BWV and other DVC properties) and have not had a problem so far. I ususally don't leave it out in plain sight though. ;)

Like I said earlier, I have a cable lock and I locked it to the bedframe...never had a problem...
