We just returned today from our 1st trip to WDW and I can't stop thinking about how 3 of our items were stolen from us.

1. My son left his Pirate Mickey Ears in his stroller under a sweatshirt when we went on a ride. Only to return 5 minutes later with no ears. Gone! Despite checking Lost in Found at Epcot numerous times never found.

2. My daughter left her autograph book at a Minnie display at a store in MGM, when we realized 2 minutes later we left it there, we returned but it was gone also. Again, the store clerk who sat right across from the stand and Lost and Found never showed up! It was filled out with her name and phone number, too!

3. The final episode was just last night in our room at Boardwalk. We have been returning nightly in excitement to see how my other daughter's Rock and Roll Minnie would be posed since we bought it on the first day. Yesterday, we posed her on the pillow before leaving for the day only to return with Minnie gone. The mousekeeping manager was wonderful bringing 3+ Minnies for her to choose from and giving her 2 in the end. She was great but i can't help but wonder where Minnie is. Also, a small WDW store bag that typically holds jewlry was stretched open (stapled shut). It only had a miniture mexican flag in it to their dismay.

Initially I was upset with my kids for not being responsible especially the book and hat. But then I was upset that WDW guests and housekeeping were so dishonest. It is a shame this affected our trip.

Im sorry your things were stolen. :( Im really shocked about the mousekeeping though :(

Unfortunately, there are thieves at Disney just like there are in the rest of the world. I'm sorry this happened, I know how you feel. I stupidly left my camera in our stroller and had is stolen a couple of years ago. Even at Disney you have to keep an eye on anything that is important to you. I'm sorry you learned this lesson the hard way too.

I'm sorry about the magic-suckers out there. BTW--did you report the tampering with your packages to Mousekeeping management? I'm sure Disney would want to know about that!
Hope lots of pixiedust: comes your way for your next trip! :sunny:

I am so sorry that you had these experiences. We have been so lucky. We have been to WDW several times. We have always rented a stroller and have always used it to carry all our stuff. I brought a chain and locked our bag to the rail on the stroller, but all the things we purchased were stuck inside the stroller or in the net attached to the back. We always left all these things in the stroller when we went into a ride or attraction or restaurant. Nothing was ever taken from us. DD even got tired of carrying her Pal Mickey during our last trip and we left him in the stroller on top of the backpack and he was never taken. I guess we were very lucky.

I am also shocked about the mousekeeping....I would definitely had said something to guest services about that. But, the others, it is frustrating, but people do steal.....it's best to take your things with you on the ride.

Hi, all - this is my first time posting to this particular board (although I am a regular on the VMK board! :thumbsup2 ) and this thread caught my eye. Our family also had items stolen over our last trip to WDW and it has just about broken our hearts. A dvd-album with all my kids favorite Disney movies was stolen out of our hotel room at Beach Club Villas (I've reported it and Disney has done nothing but send me a letter saying that they can find "no negligence" on their part) and my nephew's stroller was stolen outside of Beaches and Cream. It is so sad that it has come to this, but theft at WDW seems to be becoming more and more of a problem. I urge everyone to carefully watch their stuff, even in the hotels. :guilty:

I am so sorry to hear that people stole your belonging's.In Epcot I bought a Minnie Moue Princess thing for your car and when I went to a Racetrack on a Family Day back where I live and came back to the car to find that someone took it..I was soo mad and so sad!

I am really sorry again.:(

Last year a group of young teenagers grabbed my DS mickey's philharmagic cap off his head as we were going up the ramp to the monrails. My son is in a wheelchair....he cried his eyes out! DIRTY BIRDS....

Castmembers came to our aid and disney gave him another one. Today, at Universal someone stole my son's refillable cup right off his wheelchair when he was on a ride and in front of castmembers! Again, catmembers came to his rescue again and gave hin a new cup filled. Geez, why steal a used cup :confused3 what kind of morals do you have stealing from the sick and disabled...Gosh, my son can't defend himself! :furious:

Sorry to read about your trouble's. Some people are disgraceful. Try not to let the bad out-shine the good. Easier said than done. ;)

GOSH! lol..Sorry about getting all worked up,lol.

On the other hand, about a month ago a wallet was found in the Wave Pool at Typhoon Lagoon with over $1,200 in cash in it and we were able to locate the owner and return the money to him. He had thought his wife had the wallet but it had been in his back pocket when he went into the wave pool.

I have also seen guests coming out of shows and since they can't remember where they parked their stroller, they will take someone elses. How rude!

Wow. This is very disheartening...I know things get stolen in the parks, but I have always been lucky and not lost anything...however, things disappearing from hotel rooms is downright frightening.

I need to work when we go, and was planning on taking my laptop; besides the fact I should work some, I like to have it to download my photos and burn backup cds. After reading that things in the rooms can be ripped off too, I'm leaving it home.

depending on what resort, i think most have room safes you might be able to fit a laptop in...i was able to fit a larger slr camera in it our last trip.

while the toys and stuff from the rooms are one thing, just cause someone is a wdw doesn't mean they are honest or above stealing...just like anywhere else i never leave anything i'd miss unattended in a stroller or something...

stealing from within the room is different, Disney knows who cleaned the room and imo that person should be fired since if they'll steal a kid's toy they'd steal anything. we've always had the opposite problem at disney, the housekeepers wouldn't even take the tip i left unless i left a note with it :)

This just makes me so sad for all of you! :grouphug: Here it was your first trip, too! I hope there were a lot of other magical memories to outweigh these unfortunate ones! I can't believe things happened at your hotel room! I've never worried about that but I guess I will in the future.

Last year we were at Lego World in Downtown Disney. I left my camera at the registar when we checked out, walked out the store, realized my camera was gone and went back in and it was not there. I had 400+ pics on it from our day at the Walt Disney World Speedway (pics I cannot get back again). I was so upsest. I called every day for a week but it was never found. I left it for 2 minutes. And I would have thought the cashier would have noticed someone pick it up. But I guess not...

Oh, no! I feel so bad for you. :(

It is crushing to get stuff stolen at Disney. Once we were in MGM for the day and came back out to our car to find my dad's work laptop (borrowed from his work) stolen! We wouldn't have thought to check except that we keep a cooler full of sodas in the back and went to get some and the lock stuck a bit. The laptop even had one of our favorite DVDs in it! That was really upsetting. :(

You'd never think that your stuff would get stolen at Disney of all places. It's just horrible.

I'm so sorry to hear of belongings stolen at WDW.

:grouphug: to all of you who have had these bad experiences.

I'd keep trying Lost and Found for the autograph book. The Minnie, if she was on the bed, could have been lost in the sheets when the bed was made. That's why I make my DD put all of her stuffed animals in a chair in the room before we go to the parks. She probably ended up in an industrial washing machine.

It can take days/weeks for Lost and Found to find a missing item, and ship it home to you. Luckily, when my DD lost her cellphone on M:S, Guest Services had it in about 15 minutes - which was about how long it took her to realize she had lost it... :rotfl:
