Magic Room 2009

I am curious as well. I am booked in this room on the Wonder. The only review I've seen online is for next door room 2011 and they said that room smelled like sewer the entire cruise and they would not book it again. I really hope this is not the case! :sad2:

Anyone have any reviews? Thanks! :yay:

My parents had 2009 on the Magic the last week of September. Their room was fine. Its your standard inside stateroom. It is small, but nothing horrible. Great for 2 people. We had 2015, which is 3 doors down and our room was HOT the whole time. We had the AC set at the lowest temp and it was still uncomfortable, and we couldn't get maintenance to fix it - but that another story. As for 2009, the only issue they had was the toilet not flushing once, but it was fixed with in 15 minutes, besides that they had no complaints at all. Jo Jo was the room attendant, he is quiet but an awesome guy. Go, relax, enjoy and have fun.

Wow thanks for the report "right from the actual room." This is really helpful. I was wondering how much noise your parents heard from being right below the clubs above, but it sounds like they didn't notice anything unusual.

How about front of ship movement?

We were lucky last year our first cruise, we were bumped up from GTY to an outside room with a huge window....I think that's Disney's way of hooking you to more cruises...thinking as a first timer you might get another bump next cruise.

(We don't go to sleep early anyway, and besides my hearing isn't that great as well.)

But this is good news, that it wont be terrible. Small room for the two of us, wont be that bad as we don't spend a lot of time in the room)

Thanks

Chris

I didn't notice any noise from above and they never mentioned it at all. And trust me, my mom is a complainer, not to others, just to me :). So I think she would have mentioned it to me if they had an issue.

As for the ship movement, I don't have a good answer for that. We had never been forward before, and we were traveling along side a tropical storm, so we felt a lot of movement. Again I don't know if that is normal, or due to the storm. Someone else might be able to answer that for you. I am leaning towards saying it was the storm because there were A LOT of people sea sick. The captain even rerouted between some islands to try to get in some calmer water.

Like I said the cabin is small, but with it being inside it was really dark. I got some great sleep on that cruise!

DW & I just left this room on Saturday. No funny smells, no noise from Beat Street, and if you do want to go there, it's a quick walk, stumble, or crawl back to the room afterwards. We also had one of the nicest stateroom hosts ever. Very chatty when we'd see him in the hallways, and he did a great job honoring our one request (ice at make-up and turn-down). We'd been down the hall a bit in Feb (room 2015), and it wasn't quite as nice...we had some AC issues and some problems with the plumbing. No such problems in this cabin. Hope you have a great time!

Thank you for your reviews. Sounds like the room will be fine.
But, I sure did like that free upgrade to 2072 last year.

Thanks again

Chris

haha :rotfl2:, well its good to know they are on top of getting the AC issue fixed in 2015! If it was bad in Feb and still bad in Sept :confused3

I agree though 2009 is nicer then 2015. We actually had that whole line of rooms in our group - 2009 - 2021. I would have picked 2009 out of all of them.

OP, yes, you have a good room. Upgrade would be better, but at least you have the best of the "bad" rooms :)

Thanks to everyone for the information-- my family has rooms 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015 for the Dec 24-30 cruise. My husband and I have 2009 and appreciate reading all the information!
