Magic NY To Puerto Rico - Nov 5, 2016

I supposedly live in central NJ according most definitions, Piscataway. Where in Central Jersey are you?

:tinker:Can't wait to set sail!! We are the Martinez family from Dover, Delaware. 2nd cruise with Disney. :tink:

Well, I just really committed to this cruise, I just bought my tickets from San Juan back to Newark Airport. The price currently is $155 in economy. Now all I need is a hotel in San Juan for the weekend.
Any chance you might help me. How can you get from the Newark Airport into Manhattan?

There are two ways from Newark Liberty Airport to Manhattan - bus and the train. I prefer the train, the internal tram takes you right to the train station, where you get the train right into Penn Station NY ( confusingly it goes through Penn Station, Newark first). From Penn Station the easiest way to get to the cruise terminal is taxi. You can also use the bus, subway or walk.

We are from Central NJ and are booked with a fan group. Lots of fun when you are on board with internet friends. We did not book our return airfare and now it is off the roof. We are going to spend 2 nights in San Juan after the cruise. We have sailed out of NYC with Disney before. We are veteran cruisers.

Jetblue will release the rest of the year on April 3 at noon. I would start checking them earlier that day. You should get good rates.

I booked this on release day (I was on The Magic at the time). It will be me, DH and DS15. This will be my 8th DCL cruise, and my third time sailing out of NYC on The Magic (well 4 if you count it is a port on the EBTA last year).

Is anyone here on it that can't be named??

Anyone from NY area book airfare home yet? I've been watching the fares on Jetblue, kicking myself for not booking when the rates were 118.00 when they came out , they went up to almost 200.00, now back at 158.00, debating if I should book now or hold out. I have no clue what decent airfare should be!

We are in the same boat. Waited too long. I didn't see non stop for 158. We need non stop. Now we might stay 3 nights in PR and come home Monday. Still over $200 non stop. We need Newark.

I booked with JetBlue when the fares first came out because I've never seen rates so low from SJU! I think I paid $108pp, one way from SJU to JFK. I think around $140 is about average but sometimes $150-$200 is the cheapest you'll find. Historically flights are lowest 2 months before your trip but that's only if your dates are flexible and especially if you're flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday. If you need a particular date such as a weekend prices might be closer to $200's. Have you heard of the app Hopper? I'd recommend using that to help guide you on when to book. It tells you if prices will go lower or if you should book now. :)

Our cruise is now a Very Merry time cruise https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/onboard-activities/very-merrytime-cruises/! Be forewarned there will be Christmas decorations and Santa Claus onboard.

I have accidently done Halloween and now can add Christmas to my list. Why can't I get a real holiday like Stars Wars?
That's funny, I accidentally did a Halloween cruise on our last trip...and now Christmas. I'm not that enthusiastic about celebrating Christmas before thanksgiving, but I'm on a Disney cruise in the Caribbean, so I won't complain, lol. Im hoping I can convince my kids it's really Christmas and the cruise is their Christmas present. Merry Christmas kids, lol!

Well we are veteran cruisers and we did Halloween on the High Seas in Oct, Star Wars in Feb and now Christmas in November. We
are happy. On the Halloween cruise they were building the gingerbread house so it smelled like Christmas, on the last night they
opened up the barriers around the house, and served hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies so we got both events on the same cruise.

Just read on another board that there is no Pirate Night on our cruise. This is a deal breaker for us. Can anyone confirm this rumor.

Check in for Gold Castaway Members. Did mine just after midnight. Was up watching Stephen Colbert.
