I am so excited to have finally got up enough nerve to finally write! I have been reading these boards for a while now and am inpressed with all the valuable information and kind people.
So, I am hoping you can help me. My daughter and I are taking her pom team to perform at Magic Music Days in February. We decided to use Florida Tours and stay at the All Star Sports so transportation wouldn't be a problem. But what we didn't know is that the girls need some kind of back stage transportation from where they get dressed for the performance to the Tommorrowland stage where they will perform. I was told it is about 3 miles and we are responsible for this transportation. We can''t afford a charter bus so am looking for the most economical way to do this. There are about 16 girls going.
I am sure someone out there has probably participated in Magic Music Days and can help. Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice you can give.

Maybe you all can squeeze 8(+1 chaperone?) in each?

Taxi's are not THAT expensive if used judiciously. And you just can't beat the convenience.

Folks at All Star can probably help find you the required vehicles.

$10 each, maybe $15 incl. tip?

Even $45 ($3.75 per girl) is a lot cheaper than renting a bus.

Have fun and congratulations for giving your daughter and her team a lifetime memory!

I'm taking my 8th grade chorus to sing in Magic Music Days in February, too! We are taking our own bus down to Florida and it will be with us for the trip, so we have our transportation covered. Why not call Mears or ******** to see if they can do a big passenger van? Just a thought.

When is your daughter performing? We are performing on the Tomorrowland Stage in the MK on Valentine's day. See you there???

I went and reread the information and it sounds like we can't use a taxi, the vehicle needs to stay the whole time since that is where the girls will have to keep their clothes etc. So it sounds like I need to rent a 15 passenger van or 2 minvans for the day?
We are all flying so we don't have any vehicles with us. Any ideas where to get a good deal?

We will be there on Feb 21st. I am looking forward to hearing about your daughters experience and any tips you might be able to give us!

I would say check with Alamo/National on property for a rental. They have a desk at the Dolphin and the Car Care Center in the MK parking lot.

Mears "wait" fees would probably be astronomical!!

Thanks, I will call both Mears and Alamo/ National and see what they say. Should I call the Dolphin or try the web?

Oh the web will be fine, just indicate your pickup and dropoff location to be Dolphin Hotel, WDW

Called Mears, they wanted $325 for 5 hours. I checked the web and National wanted about $ 140 for a one days rental of a 15 passenger van. looks like we will be going with National. Thanks for your help!
