We will be at DL on a Saturday in June with MM. Could we do Space, Peter Pan, and Mister Toad within that hour? TIA.

You should be able to do and cover all of FL in that hour. I would get a FP personally for Space right at 8 am, but do all of FL (depending on ages of your kids) since they don't have FPs.

If you do it in that order, that MIGHT be the only stuff you get done in that hour.

If you go to Peter Pan first, you'll have a better chance of doing more attractions during MM. Peter Pan's line can get to be 20-30 minutes long within the first 10 minutes of the park opening (even on MM days).

Check out my Early Admission superthread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

That shows this:
What's the best "touring plan strategy" for EA?
At DL, assuming you are doing Fantasyland for your EA, in order to have the shortest lines, this strategy is recommended:
(0). Arrive before EA begins and run straight to...
1. Peter Pan (always first!!!)
2. Dumbo
3. Matterhorn/Mr. Toad/Alice
4. Pinocchio/Snow White/Mad Tea Party/King Arthur's Carousel

The reason why many don't recommend riding Space or Star Tours during EA is that they have FP, meaning, with a FP, you can ride them with a short line even during normal park hours. The rides in #1-3 (in the above FL plan) don't have FP AND they will most likely have lengthy lines during the day. Thus, the best time to ride them is in the early morning.

As for Nemo, I wouldn't recommend riding it either during EA because unless you are one of the first ones in line, the combined wait time + ride time can suck up at least half of your EA hour, if not the whole thing. I'd much rather ride 9 rides in an hour than 1-2 rides.

We did the exact plan DLR29 posted and it worked like clockwork. And, since Matterhorn is closed, we had everything done in 40 min. plus was able to do ST and then get a FP for it to do later. My son was amazed on what we had accomplished.

As others have mentioned, you can get ALOT done that hour. Let us know which three other FL rides you would want to ride (along with the 3 mentioned above) & we'll give you an itinerary for that first hour.

(note - Do Space at 45 min -50 min. of that hour & then pick up your first FP at SM or ST after walking off the ride. :thumbsup2)

:)

PP has to be first. That line gets long immediately. We had an issue with our tickets on Thursday so we missed much of the MM and by the time we got to PP the line was stretched out of the que and back to the store accross from BBB.

On Tuesday we did MM and were between 10th and 15th in our line at the gates and we walked quickly to PP and still waited 10 minutes in line before getting on. All the rides after that were a cake walk though and that 10 minute wait was the longest we had during the MM time. And like a previous poster said get a FP for space at 8 and you will be fine. Get all of FL done first and the rest of the day goes by so smooth I discovered (if you take advantagem of FP).

Yep worked like a charm for us as well.

The DLR29 plan is perfect. We made it on to PP in the second and third cars, from rope drop, and went on every single ride in FL (Matterhorn wasn't operating though), then rode Space Mountain, and grabbed Star Tours FP at 8:01 with a return time of 8:40.

(This was July 2011.)

Key to the whole thing IMHO was arriving at security 45 minutes or so before park opening. We were first through security, first in one of the entrance gates, and at the front of the rope for rope drop. We walked briskly -- not insanely, but briskly -- to PP, and had no problems being some of the first on to the ride, only being edged out by one couple who ran part of the distance.

IMO this is MM 101.

- 45 min. (or maybe 50 min. starting 6/15) prior to MM opening be at the security tent.
- be one of the first 2-3 families at the turnstiles.
- Walk with a purpose to PP.
- First couple of families on PP (no line).
- Then do the rest of FL in the DLR 29 order. (with little to no line)
- (if wanting to get SM in, bail on FL at :45 & go ride SM)
- Pick up a FP at SM or ST at 8:01.

:cool2:

You guys are awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for, it is my first trip to Disneyland after many to WDW. Does anyone have any suggestions for CA? We are staying at the Grand Califorian. Thanks!

Because Carsland and the new entrance will change opening procedures and crowd flows at DCA, and those don't open for 2 more weeks, it's really hard to tell you a good strategy at this point. I could tell you what works now...but that wouldn't be relevant for your trip.

My guess is that you're gonna want to run...ahem walk with purpose...to get Radiator Springs Racers FPs first thing because those are gonna go quickly. Then you will either hit some of the things in Carsland or head over to Toy Story, which can get lengthy lines and doesn't have FP.

Yea that toy story ride gets a line quick now. Will be interesting to see how CL effects that, esspecially early on. We did rope drop at DCA on Wed and still had to wait 20 min to ride toy story (our first time riding that one as we missed it last year).

Thanks for all the advice. We will definitely do the Pan first, then the rest of FL, SM, and grab ST fp. Five days away from our first DL trip (WDW 5 times). My kids are finally tall enough to ride Space and are chomping at the bit! This board is so helpful & this good ol boy truly appreciates you.:thumbsup2

coaches24: We must have saw you there at some point in FL...as we were there at the same time. We were lucky to be one of the first ones on.

If I was going to DCA after CL opens...I might just head to TTMM one morning and ride it several times since I am sure others will be going to CL.
