Magic moments, making memories and mickey ice cream

Great pictures! I especially love the one where Abbie and snow white are both holding thier dress. The dhs dance party looks like fun! I love that Disney has things to entertain all ages!

lots of great photos - your little boy looked like he was having a great time dancing with Mickey and Minnie. We're hoping to do a Kim Possible mission in August - it will be our first time but I think DD and DS are old enough now (10 and 7), although it's really for mum anyway! I think your children did really well on such a long day. Great piccies from your photopass too. Can't wait for more but don't really want it to end!

Kim possible missions will be great for them. Abbie can't read yet as she's not even at school so we were having to read it out. I think when kids can read it themselves they are the right age for the missions
My kids managed better than i thought and you have to remember Abbie is walking it all as well as we only took one stroller

After the safari it was time for breakfast. We has tusker house booked. We had photo took with Donald outside and went in to meet the rest of these guys

and Luke actually got excited at a character

and a bit of dancing round the room with musical instruments

By the way if you want a peaceful quiet breakfast don't eat here. Its hectic but as i have 2 little ones its a great place to eat and even if they had a temper nobody would hear them. I think it helps to have fun things for kids to do as you can actually eat something while they are being entertained

So after breakfast we headed of to do the trails. We did the one near the safari first which i can't remember the name of right now. Its the one with the gorillas anyway if that helps

My daughter looks at animals rather quickly and moves on but Luke however will look at something until you encourage him to move and sometimes won't move and will have a tantrum if he wants to stay which was always going to make animal kingdom a bit more difficult. First of all we saw these

Abbie has seen them already and had gone to look at something else

Luke would have stayed here for ages. Not sure why his T-shirt glows

next it was the gorillas (monkey noises from Luke)

Luke was worn out after this so we walked a little and he fell asleep in stroller and Abbie wanted to do some rides although there's really not too many in AK
we saw this guy on the way

we headed to dinoland and Abbie and hubby went on this

As Luke was asleep we decided to have a look round the shops as we really want Luke to see all the animals so we didn't want to go round much without him awake.

we didn't go on this but I like to take photos of it

After luke had woken up we went to see thes guys

and this is a bat skeleton

and then the tigers (raarrr noises from Luke)

we were in the tiger area for quite a long time as they have nomally been asleep and these were moving all over and eating the grass

he's on safari with his animal kingdom outfit on. he did walk a lot that day as he was wanting to see everything

we then went to see festival of the lion king. we were planning on seeing both shows but one on each of our AK days. We had just missed a nemo so we opted for Lion king which we love and the kids did really well and sat through it all

we were in the lion section which i was very pleased about. Really don't like being in the warthog section

after lion king we did camp mickey minnie. I've heard that this is really the wrong time to see the characters here as everyone goes on way out of lion king but it really wasn't that bad and we were only after the more unusual characters like this guy

a castmember drew this with water on the ground, it dried up so fast as it was a hot day

guess that was as close as he was going to get

so then we decided to buy these things (it was a huge treat as Luke doesn't have dairy normally as he has an intolerence, he did have a few things he isn't allowed while in disney)

we then found a spot for the parade. We love this parade

we normally head off back after the parade in AK but today we decided to go to rafiki's plant watch area.

we saw a couple more characters over there

We were quite a while in there looking in the tanks and things in conservation station. We decided we would come back on second day to do the petting zoo bit as it was getting late. We headed back to hotel and had dinner there. We had a chicken and rib combo meal which was very nice and kids had normal nuggets and chips. Put kids to bed at 7ish as they needed an earlier night

Tues 10th May

Headed to MK first of all and it was our plan to meet Repunzle and Flynn today. This we knew was not going to be as easy as it sounds as we had seen the queue for it on previous days and also watched people queue from 8am in EMH when it didn't start till 9.15am. Our plan was for me and Abbie to go alone and just go straight there as quick as we could after rope drop
We watched opening show from the side right near the rop this morning as we wanted to get in quicker. We have watched it from right in the center the other mornings but as we had seen it twice it didn't matter so much. Me and Abbie then went on ahead and ran a bit of the way and walked fast the rest. We got to the meet and greet and the queue was pretty big not sure how so many people beat us there I'm guessing they had ADR's and were already in the park. The good news was we just made the 9.15 queue thank goodness. We were let in the meet and greet area at 9.15am and the kids were given colouring sheets and crayons. My DD wasn't so impressed with this really and there was not enough room round the table so she had to lean on the wall

can you see her brilliant colouring She only used one colour and scribbled all over it

she had some pictures taken with pascal

and 45 minuites later we managed to meet these guys. It was absolutely roasting hot in that place it felt like we were melting and this was May I really feel for the poor parents stood waiting for these guys in June and July

well after the tangled meet and greet we headed off to find hubby and ds (it helps that we had phones) and bet you can't guess were Luke had wanted to go. Thats right the peoplemover again. We saw them on it as they we near the end so we waited for them to get off and join us.
We then went on buzz lightyears spaceranger spin as thats Luke's second favourite and then all rode the peoplemover again.

We then rode the teacups and then its a small world and then went for an early lunch at columbia harbour house. For those that don't know you can eat upstairs in this place and from the little room that goes over the bit between fantasyland and liberty squares you can watch people going between the 2 lands which is a very nice spot to eat.
Well Abbie had pretty much played up all morning she was a little madam when we was waiting for tangled meet and greet and was not much better between rides this morning (she was ok when she was on the rides) we finally lost patience with her when we were on her way out and she was made to stand in a "naughty corner" as we got out. Well for some reason a lady came along and decided she needed to talk to my daughter and asked why she was in the corner and we said she was playing up so she was in time out. Well not sure this lady totally got the idea of time out as she carried on talking to my daughter:confused
We then looked to see what the queue for tiana and neveen was like but they had gone in and wasn't back out for ages (typical when we had princess and the frog outfits today) so we decided to go on the riverboat

I had forgotton how slow this boat does go. Its a lovely ride but its so hot on the boat and Luke got a bit fed up so hubby spent half the time chasing him

It was a very hot day today for May it was in the 90's

We wanted to go to downtown disney today so we decided to head back to hotel and have a little break and then catch the boat to downtown disney
As we were leaving the move it shake it celebrate it parade was coming up the street so we decided to watch that first

Luke somehow fell asleep but me and Abbie went to dance for a bit in the parade. I quite like this parade/dance thing its nice to hear the music blasting out as you are walking round the park even if you don't watch it each time

We headed back to hotel and then headed to downtown. We got there a lot later than we had hoped as first boat had been full so we waited a while for next one. Spent a little while at downtown and then headed off the AK lodge for dinner

So we were on our way to AK lodge. this isn't as easy as it sounds. As much as I love this hotel I'm not sure I would ever stay there as it seems so far away from other places. It took ages from downtown disney.
As Boma was a bit less entertaining for kids than all the other places we had eaten we decided we would get the kids the cups with the glow straws. Abbie got tinkerbell and Luke got Buzz

As you can see he thought the straw was great so did Abbie but we don't seem to have any pictures of hers

Boma was lovely its definitly a meal i would recommend. It has loads of different food to try as well as more familiar stuff and the desserts are the best

After dinner we went to the viewing area to see if we could see any animals and we saw these right near the viewing are

pictures of AK lodge. I really do love this place just not the transport and distance. To see the giraffes first thing in the morning outside your room would be fantastic and the lodge itself is just so beautiful

could sit of these chairs for ages watching the animals too and i think the kids liked them too

little ducklings were just under the pelicans

After we had had a look round the lodge we headed back to downtown. buses were a nightmare again it took ages for one to even arrive
Went round a few shops at downtown and ended up in lego shop were Abbie did the fill a cup with lego thing and bought that and then headed back to hotel
