Does anyone know the rotation for live shows on a four night cruise on the Magic? Also, if DH and I are dining in Palo for dinner, are the kids taken to dinner and then the live show that night?

We were on the Magic last month and the shows were
Night 1 - Twice Charmed
Night 2 - Tangled
Night 3 - Movie in theater / Pirates on deck
Night 4 - Dreams

Your kids will need to get to dinner and the show on their own if you are in Palo and unable to do so, assuming they are at the age you are comfortable with them doing so.

The kids are welcome to attend MDR dinner and the show without out, but no one will "take" them unless you are traveling with others or make friends with another family onboard. So depending on their ages, you may want to feed them either room service or from the pool deck before your Palo reservation and drop them at the Club/Lab while you eat (no live show). Or if they are old enough to watch the clock and get themselves around the ship, they can do the MDR and show on their own.

A few times when my kids were too young to go to dinner by themselves and we had first seating for dinner, I booked a late dinner at Palo for my husband and me. We then went with the kids to the main dining room, ordered a light appetizer and a beverage for ourselves, sat while they ate, then took them to the kids’ club and headed to Palo.

Once my son was around 12, we trusted him to go to dinner with his younger sister and head either to the Club/Lab or back to our cabin. If the kids had wanted to go to the show, they could have done that too. The kids enjoyed feeling grown up dining by themselves and were doted on by our serving team.

We're taking our 7 year old granddaughter. We are on the waiting list for 5:30 dinner. Coming from CST and usually eating around 6:00, I'm not sure we'll be able to handle an 8:30 dinner time, especially since 8:30 is her usual bedtime (although I doubt we'll be strictly enforcing that 😉.) Is it appropriate to offer to pay other passengers for a trade up to the earlier dining time?

That would not be appropriate.

Have you been put on the wait-list for main dining (5:45)? You can check the app/website to see if it becomes available and switch it yourself. I was able to switch from late to main about 10 days before the my June 2022 cruise. You can also ask as soon as you board the ship and they may be able to switch you to main dining then.

Weird. I replied to Geomom 2 days ago and now, and have checked back twice, refreshing the screen each time, and then again today, checking for a reply, and I find that my post has disappeared.

I can see your post from Monday at 12:49pm.
And Geomom replied at 2:14pm that same day.

There must be a glitch...I was on a completely different forum earlier today and all I could see was the first post of several threads.
