Next summer I will be making my trek to WDW on the 4th of July. I'm very interested in attending the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. I have never been there for this before. Any tips or strategies appreciated.

Plan on it being staggeringly PACKED!

They do the MK 4th fireworks on the 3rd and 4th. I'd plan MK on the 3rd and Epcot in the 4th. We did it a few years ago, and, while crowded, we weren't overwhelmed by the masses. Both days plan to get there early, stay all day, and schedule a late lunch TS in air conditioning. That really makes the hottest part of the day more tolerable.

I have read that. Unfortunately, I am arriving early-mid afternoon on the 4th so I don't have that option. I know MK will be tough but from what I've read, if you can see one that MK is the one to see.

I've seen them the last four Fourth of Julys from a variety of different locations. My personal favorite was right there on MSUSA, but it's packed and to get a decenter spot (I'm talking like halfway down the street near the end of the Confectionary), you got to arrive at least 35-40 minutes early. If you can, try to see them the night before. Like with the NYE fireworks, they run a "rehearsal" the night before (so in this case on 7/3) that is slightly less crowded. You could also try to score reservations for California Grill or Narcoossee's, which both allow you to get a better view of the perimeter fireworks. Many suggest the Polynesian beach, but during Fourth of July, they restrict part of the beach only for Poly CL guests and it's just chaos. Some years they've even only allowed resort guests only, so I'd say go with either CG, Narcoossee's, or brave out MSUSA. Either way, the show is fantastic!

There's a possibility that due to overcrowding, you won't be able to enter MK at that time.

Hmm, didn't think of that. If that were the case, would the bus services from Disney resorts be aware?

Two things:
1. Yes, the bus drivers will know.

2. If you are staying at a WDW resort, the chance that you would be completely
"locked out" of an over-full park would be very low. On-site guests are allowed to enter
unless the park is in the most serious of over-crowded conditions.

Phew that makes me feel much better! I will be staying at the Swan, so that is a relief. I'm hoping it still applies there, and is there somewhere specific I need to order my park ticket from in that case (like should I order it through Disney to be safe? Or if I purchase from UndercoverTourist will that matter?)?

1. Nope.
2. That will be fine, and it won't matter in the case under discussion.

To be clear, UT (and the other authorized ticket resellers) sell "regular Disney tickets."
It's just that Disney prints them and sends them to the resellers to, well, re-sell.

Do MK the night before as they have the same 4th of July fireworks and do Epcot on the 4th We did that this year and it worked out great.. By the way Epcot 4th fireworks are like WW3 I have never seen fireworks that loud like right on your face stuff..
