Magic Kingdom's 40th Anniversary

So what, if anything, do you think Disney will do next year for the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom?

I'm thinking, "Not very much."

They have already recently had an international promotion that celebrated "50 Years of Magic"

and, in another recent national promotion, they celebrated "100 Years of Magic."

So, now, it would be just a bit confusing to suddenly celebrate, "40 Years of Magic."



(But, hey, they can do just about any old thing they like. )

considering they aren't doing much to remember Dl 55 other than merchandise for you to buy... I wouldn't hold my breath on getting any kind of big to do. I hope that parts of fantasyland will be done by the end of next year, maybe they can open in time for the october date who knows? but since they now do disney parks and not individual resort promotions, I doubt that any more anniversaries will be commemorated in the US. the foreign parks are a different matter.

A WDW 40th anniversary celebration has already been hinted at in a couple of sources (including a Fantasyland expansion article in an issue of Disney Twenty-Three magazine).

And MK is rumored to be getting a brand-new parade and castle show next year as well.

I would find it silly if they celebrated their 55th anniversary since 1) 55 doesn't seem celebratory-worthy and 2) their 50th was huge.

I'll be happy if they add new parades and shows, they really need to. If that's all they do, their 50th would just be in 10 years.

I love what Tokyo Disney Resort does when a resort or park has an anniversary. WDW needs to do something like that!
(for instance, the Ambassador Hotel at TDR is celebrating their 10th anniversary, so they put out a cd (probably lobby music) and have all sorts of things going on at the resort.)
