I was wondering what we should bring with us to the park? We will be packing for a 3 month old?

Plus for people that have brought infants would you do it again?

Thank You

I brought my youngest at 3months and i'd do it again...she loved watching the shows....and I was able to take her on the slow rides...small world, peter pan, etc

Some 3 mo. old's are easier at WDW than 3 year olds!!! My only concern would be the time of year you plan to travel. I don't think I'd take an infant that young in the hot summer months. I've seen far too many sunburned babies, where I'm sure the parents meant well and put lots of sunscreen, but just didn't realize how tender that new little skin is. I'd also worry about heatstroke ... yep, I'm a worrywart! ;)

I have done this two years ago, and I would do it again. Packing is difficult you have to include a lot more stuff than you would with a reg. child (diapers, burp cloths, ointment, gas drops-don't forget, and infant tylenol-another must have). I brought a white towel to the parks with us and draped it over the stroller canopy (they are usually dark colors and absorbs the sun) and while he was sleeping I hung it down so it shaded him from the sun, I also used it while I was breast feeding for shading him and me.
If you are going mid summer (we went in August) they have these great onsies that were like tanks on the top they were great. Someone else on this board suggested (I wish I knew then) getting a portable fan (operated with batteries) and clipping it to the carriage. Get a great backpack with lots of compartments, I have found that they work MUCH better than a diaper bag and you can hang it off the carriage. Bring more wipes than you think you will use for wiping sticky hands and tables for that matter. Bring an extra empty bottle and fill with room temp water, don't use cold thier tummy might cramp up. Thats all I can think of for now. They won't remember anything at that age, but they do react to what they see. I remeber when we went to Universal Islands of Adventure, the Cat in the Hat loved the little one, whoever was in the costume was awestruck at our little guy. We got loads of pictures with them together, he may not remeber but we do and I am sure he will love the pictures when he gets older.

I haven't taken in infant to WDW but have taken ours to other large outdoor attractions (San Diego Zoo, waterparks, etc.) when they were infants. We always had a great time! IMO in many ways it is easier to sightsee with an infant than with a 2-year-old! Of course you'll have some special circumstances to deal with with an infant. You will want to check with your baby's pediatrician about sunscreen--most pediatricians say no sunscreen before 6 months, but our pediatrician felt that 4 months was fine. Regardless, you'll want to keep the baby out of the sun as much as possible, of course.

Also, ask your pediatrician about the crowd situation--I don't know when you are planning on going but our pediatrician discouraged us from going into large crowds with a small infant during RSV season (basically cold season). Just a thought.

I agree with the poster who suggested using backpack diaper bag. I have found it so easy to hang the backpack on the stroller handles while we're strolling, and then to loop it over my shoulder when it's time to go in for a ride/attraction.

Have a fun trip!

we took our 3 month old last December and had a great time. you've had some great recommendations, so all I will add is that you can get most things you may have forgotten from the babycare centers, and bring a sling or carrier of some kind for when you are in lines or going into shows.

Also, cover their ears in the shows as some of them have some loud startling noises. Molly was alright on most things, but definitely jumped at loud noises and also sudden blasts of air (Philharmagic springs to mind)

We had a great time and would take a baby again. In fact, we will be taking Molly in October when she is 13 months and will be considerably harder work than she was last December, but we will still have a wonderful time.

I was there last month with a three month old and I would definitely do it again. (Is there a way to have her be three months again so that I CAN do it again???) I was unable to find a stoller umbrella, so I bought one in MK, one of those fancy lacey ones that they put the child's name on. It provided sufficient shade. I have since found the real stoller umbrella and stroller fan that I was looking for and will order both for our trip in August. She'll be six months old for that one, and I suspect a bit more challenging!!! They can be found at One Step Ahead, and ordered on line. Reasonably priced!!!

Definitely a sling!!! I still carry DD (who is now 16 months!) in the sling when we go to WDW (7 times, so far, this year). I resisted getting one for a long time. I'm still kicking myself for not getting it sooner. I carry a small Totes-style umbrella to keep the sun off of her.

This is a great thread! I am taking a 3-4 month old in October for MNSSHP and the Food and Wine Festival. I will also have a 2 year old in tow, which I know will be the "hard" part of the trip! But I will have my DH, my parents and possibly my BIL and SIL. Lots of recruits!

But I'm glad to hear that lots of what I was planning is what many of you recommend. Keep the ideas coming!

Went with 4 mo old - NO PROBLEM, she even loved the Haunted Mansion.

If you have to rent a stroller - I would bring a lightweight blanket washed at home to cover the interior of the stroller and possibly some cotton knee socks with the toes cut out to cover the belt straps.

1) the familiar smells may make them more comfortable in an unknown stroller & place

2) I don't trust how clean they are so this would keep your baby off the surface and the belt would be covered if the baby decides to hold on to it then put their hands in their mouth

Agree with others, something to put over the top for shade is a must especially in summer months AND a nice sound barrier for cat naps.

and it was no problem. I carried her alot in my babywraps which are more comfortable than a sling imho (pics at www.fairuzasball.com ) and we also had the combi to put her in while I rode the rides. she's a really calm child...my first dd would not have been so easy at that age....but then again, i'm 7 years older & i really think that makes a difference. good luck & have fun.

I would (and have) taken a 3 month old, but the Disney strollers are not suitable for a young baby (under a year or maybe 2) and I would definitely bring your own.

We went last year with our 3 month old, and I wouldn't do it again at such a young age. The trip had been planned before I got pregnant, and my older children (6 and 4) had been looking forward to it, so we went ahead anyway. We had fun, and there were no terrible moments, but it just wasn't worth the extra hassle of diaper bags, stopping to nurse, leaving the rest of my family eating in a restaurant so I could walk the baby, etc. We're going again this December when he'll be 15 months, and I think we're going to have a great time. My older son was 15 months his first time at Disney, and it was terrific.

Should I bring my own pack and play or just get one from the hotel? We are staying on Disney property.

How do sound proof a stroller?

Speaking of strollers should I bring an umbrella stroller or a big one? So you guys cover the hood on the stroller with something white? Where is the best place to get a fan?

I am sure I will have more questions.
Thank You for your help.

At 3 months, I think the stroller really has to lie flat, if you can get a flat umbrella stroller than that would be fine, but if not, then I would go for the bigger stroller.

I have a clip on parasol for our stroller, and we also used white muslin cloths to hang over the hood to provide even more shade.

I'm not sure you can sound proof a stroller, I just snuggled her ito my chest and put my hands over her ears if we were in a loud show.

at 3mo they pretty much sleep whenever, where ever....if you're lucky! the only time i wished i hadn't been there was during the christmas ceremony at epcot (candle light procession) bc it was really loud & she woke and started to scream...it was long....i loved it but my husband didn't bc he had to walk the baby!

about the stroller...i got a combi acoustic stroller that lies flat...mollie is almost 9mo & i still use it (mostly to carry my bags...but i can put her in it to sleep when she gets really tired. www.babyage.com usually has them for a good price.
