Magic Kingdom shoot or not to Magic Kingdom Shoot???

I am without a doubt doing the MK shoot. I have a couple questions though I hope someone can answer. Do they do more than one session per morning, and what is the likelihood of getting the date that you want for it?? I really was hoping to have mine the day after the wedding in order to try to keep my hair done, but I think that FigmentFan already has that day(March 5), eek. By the way, how did you already get yours booked?? I'm really hoping that they had two sessions that morning and I can get the other one. Well, I'm hoping someone can answer these questions and thanks!:)

sometimes they do 2 sessions a day, i did mine on the 23rd november 2005 and we had the early session (5am), we left just as another bride was coming in

I knew it was something that we wanted to do, so while we were still in the process of signing our contract about a month ago I had our consultant give me the info. He had me call Disney Photographic Services directly at (407) 827-5029. I'm not sure if they do two a day or not. I booked ours two days after since I knew we wouldn't want to get up early the day after our wedding since we have a 9 am ceremony and an evening dessert party.:coffee:

The package is listed under Formal Portrait sessions, so I'm taking it that both portrait sessions will be in your wedding attire, which makes it a reasonable deal as you get the 12 4x5" folder for each park. Not sure if it's on the same day, or on different days tho'.

I'm expecting my flowers to be fine for the next day - as long as no one sits on them on something!!

To confirm what you were saying about wearing wedding attire. I just got an email back from my coordinator's assistant; you do get to wear your wedding attire in both parks. :yay:

Thank you FigmentFan, sooooo much! I have been so worried about being able to get the MK shoot for the date I wanted! I called Doreen right before I saw your post and she was going to contact them, but then I saw your post and went ahead and called myself and got a 5am shoot for that day!:goodvibes I just couldn't wait, I like instant results haha.

I would do it again in a heartbeat. There really was no question. The time was crazy early, but it's a once in a lifetime thing.

We did ours 3 days later. I didnt think about the flower thing and no one mentioned it to me, so I didnt even bring my flowers. For some of the pictures they had me hold my hand a certain way and they photoshopped them in  My favorites are the ones without them though...

did they say that it would be the same day for both shoots? (don't fancy having to do hair/make-up twice!!).

I'd like to know this too. I didn't even know it was an option to add on another park for only $300, and you get to wear your wedding attire!

Here is the info that I got from my planner's assistant last week. You go immediately from the Magic Kingdom to the second park, so yes they are on the same day.

The 2008 prices are as follows:
Magic Kingdom Photo Shoot alone is $1,000.
A second park alone is $575.
And two parks together are a total of $1,300.

i can't wait to have a MK photo shoot... i hafta decide if i want to do it before or after the wedding though. what do u guys think?

We are having ours two days after our wedding since we didn't want to see each other before our ceremony (plus our wedding is at 9 am). I am really excited because that is something that I have always wanted. During my planning session last week I talked to the florist about my bouquet and they will keep it for me and add any replacement flowers so it will look great that day.

Make sure you keep in mind that there is quite a phenomenal charge for this service. We are doing ours 2 days after our wedding too (the longest they will refresh without making you purchase a new bouquet.) I thought, wow, how nice that they do that for you, then I got our BEO and saw how much it costs :scared1: I guess it's not 'that' bad, but it's definitely more than I thought it would be for a 'refresher.' I also saw that some people said they think their flowers will be ok the next day. Our floral coordinator suggested that I give her my bouquet right after our ceremony and pictures so she could get it in water. I won't need it for the reception, so that's what we're going to do.

To the OP: We had to cut our budget and had to choose between cutting the characters or the MK shoot. In the end, we decided that the MK shoot was totally a once in a lifetime thing, and even though we have to get up at the crack of dawn, it would be totally worth it. Those pictures will hang in our home for the rest of our lives and you can't put a price on that. We felt the same about having the characters, but they were more expensive, and weren't worth the price for the SHORT amount of time.
