Magic Kingdom Rituals

Our family has the tradition of riding the Tea Cups first. Always. There are never any exceptions. I stand outside and take pictures, because the Tea Cups make me feel funny. :rotfl:

And then we go about with our plans of grabbing FPs and such. But the Tea Cups come first. :)

Is this before or after breakfast!?

We always have to eat at tony's (37 year old tradition started with Town Square Cafe) at least once per stay.

Wow. A 37 year old tradition/ritual is pretty cool. Bravo.

Do you get the spaghetti and meatballs?

MK is always our first and last park, (plus visits during the week as well.) Our first meal and stop is at Casey's where we can sit outside and people watch as well as look at the castle, and just be thankful to be back.

Our last day, the last thing, is to go to the picture spot near the Tomorrowland bridge and have our picture with the castle in the background. Then it's a group hug, with promises made that we will return.

Then as we walk to the exit, I'm extremely quiet due to a big ole lump in my throat. DW understands and know just how much I/we love being at Disney.

lol I seem to always get something different, but the main family consensus is the chicken parm. A certain dish is hard because the original menu has changed so much, so we settle for just eating at the location.

MK is always my first park to visit. Like tradition before I hop on the train and get off in Adventure Land, making my way down to POTC and The Jungle Cruise.

My DD have been almost 30 times in the past 10 years and we adopted a tradition of entering on the left side under the train station in front of the sign about leaving your troubles behind. We hold hands and read the sign and then jump across the line, in the walkway, in front of the sign and vow to leave all of our troubles behind and have fun!!
When we went in '05 we had a group of 10 of us and we did our traditional entrance, you should have seen the people looking at us!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It was great and we still do it!!

I always drop a ton of money on tickets, eat junk food, and spend a lot of time standing in line to see people pretending to be other people. Works for us.

She said ritual, not routine lol

Our first park is MK, a slow wander down Main Street taking in everything but mainly the castle then it's onto The Haunted Mansion, first ride & last ride of the holiday.

I always grab a map from each language at every park to take home. I take two English ones. One to keep and one to use around the park. I love taking them home. We moved recently and I can't find my old ones which makes me sad but im still hoping they're stashed somewhere. I just started this a few trips ago ( every few years or so we go) and wish I would have started back when I first started going when 20,000 leagues was at MK. It would be neat to go through all them!!!!

I like bringing park maps home too, I have a MK and AK one stuck to my wall.

We always do It's a small World first. It was my MIL's favorite ride before she passed. My wife gets a smile every time we are on this ride as she is remembering all the good times she had here with her mom.

Another one for me is always always always riding carousel of progress. I love this ride. I know a lot of people don't but it's one of my favorite. I love history and to see how we have grown. Same with spaceship earth. We ride that one probably too many times haha

We always start with a photo on Main Street with the castle in the background. Then we head to Tomorrowland and ride Buzz Lightyear. We always have lunch (pizza) at Pinnochio Haus. We always end our day, and our trip, with multiple rides on POC. One trip we even bought park hoppers on our last day just because we wanted to ride POC. Yes...it was an expensive ride, but our DSs happiness was worth every penny.

There is one thing we do every single trip since 2005. We make sure we don't go to Stitch's Great Escape.

8 years going strong.

Even with my headache I laughed my a** off on that one! We don't like stitch's ride either! But MK is always first day park for us. We head for buzz then for HM. When I took my wife for her first trip in 2009 we had our photo done on the bridge beside the castle, then when we took DS in 2012 we got a photo of the three of us same spot. This year we took DS and DD ( was her first time and her 3rd birthday) we got a photo in the same spot too, now we have all three on the wall together ! I think disney is the best place for traditions to grow!

This thread is awesome! So positive and happy. Some great ideas here! After all the FP+ drama threads, this one is perfect. :) Thanks, OP.
