Magic Kingdom on Monday?

I've read and heard that maybe we should avoid the Magic Kingdom on Monday, since most people are beginning their vacation and also start at the Magic Kingdom the first day. Is there any truth to this? Would it be better to do another park on Monday, then go to the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday?

Thanks for the input :)

I really think Monday is the worse day to do MK. We always avoided it but this trip our last day was Monday and the kids wanted to go back one last time to MK and then back to GF to swim before we had to leave for the airport. It was horrible. Wall to wall crowds and long waits for fast passes. I wouldn't do MK on a Monday again.

Bump....

Thanks for the reply DisneyMomx7.

Anyone else here with experience/opinions? :)

I read the Magic Extra Hour for MK is on Sundays so I think we are going there then...Last time we went we started out with Epcot on Monday and save MK for Wednesday actually...but I think Fastpass helps more now than the last time I went ('98).

We were at the MK recently on a MOnday evening and it was awful. I would avoid Mk on a Monday.

Wow, there seem to be so many days to avoid MK. EE, weekends and Monday ---- Thur, Sat, Sun and Mon! And if its the offseason, avoid Spectro nights. So much to keep straight!

I thought Sunday Morning was supposed to be a good time to visit the MK. This year, we are planning on visiting the MK on Sunday after church, but we probably won't be able to arrive until about 9:30 or 10:00. Would this be a good time to visit the MK or should we try another park? That evening, we have reservations for a Fantasmic Dinner Package, so we will be hopping over to MGM in the afternoon.
Thank You. :teeth:

We try to never do MK on a Sat. All the area residents are there then. Then we'll do the EE on Sunday but leave around noon or so. Monday's can be crowded, especially during those peak travel times. Not too bad during the fall. Summer time it can be crowded. We try to do a different park on Monday.

We do MK EE on Sunday. It's the only EE we take advantage of and we usually go from 8 AM and leave around 1 or 2 to go back to the hotel for a swim/nap break. Other days I found to be less crowded at MK are Wednesday and Friday. Hope it helps.

Monday is the busiest day for MK. I made the mistake of going on a Monady thinking it would be less crowded, but was surprised by the crowds... We asked a CM if this was normal and she told us that Monday is the worst day to go.

Do the crowds stay bad all afternoon and evening in anticipation of E-night? We were thinking of getting there about 4pm then stay for E-night, since everyone says you really get your money's worth. Is that true or not?? Should we change our plans?

Yikes! We leave tomorrow!!

I think it depends on the time of year. We went last year the Monday after Thanksgiving and had virtually no waits. Buzz Lightyear was a 25 min wait, but the Fastpass was down. Otherwise, everything was 5 - 10 min. Towards the end of the day the park did get busier since Spectro and WISHES were showing that night and then again only one other time that week due to MVMCP. This year we are doing EMH at AK and then going over to MK later on for Spectro and Wishes.
