Magic Kingdom Hub Construction

Apparently the hub is being expanded, which I'm sure is necessary and a good thing. However, I'm going to the World mid-August and would prefer to NOT have the dreaded construction walls all the way up to the castle. :sad1: Does anyone know when this is likely to be finished? Thanks!

Next year.

How bad is the construction?

There are various walls up, moats drained, paths blocked and equipment visible depending on where you are around the Hub. All of this will change from day-to-day. It is a fairly major effort, and right smack dab in the middle of the park. It will be this way for another year or more. Can't really be helped.

Hundreds of vacations will be "ruined", millions of others won't care. Which is which will be determined mostly by attitude.

Thanks for the info - unfortunately, this isn't sounding so great. :sad2:

Can someone reassure me that there are still some good locations for photos with the castle in the background? Is the construction RIGHT in front of the castle, blocking it, or on the sides? I did look at the pictures but couldn't quite tell...

Not that I've seen yet.

There are plenty of unobstructed locations. It really isn't that bad.

My vacation is 32 days away, and I have been wondering about the amount of construction walls myself. I probably would have put off this vacation for a few years had I known this was going to happen, but since I did not, I am going to try and make the best of it.

I love taking pictures, and I will be sad about the photos that I won't be able to take. However, I'll just have to enjoy taking the ones that I can get. I guess it will be a challenge.

I remember the year that I visited Disneyland, and there were construction walls. I vowed, "No construction walls in my photos".

Is the construction in the hub impacting fireworks/castle light show viewing?

Thanks!

No, the walls besides changing traffic patterns a bit, the walls aren't really a big deal. The only place you can't sit and see the fireworks anymore is by the Ice Cream Parlor/The Plaza. We went last night and honestly still have great pics :-)

We are just back. The only time we consciously noticed the walls was when we were walking next to them. Other than that, it wasn't a big deal.
