Please tell me your favorites!

Sister and BIL will be having a late-ish (8:50A) breakfast at Kona Cafe before heading over to MK and will be having a sushi dinner much later that night. I know they'll be needing some eats around 1:30-2PM. As I always do a 11:30AM power lunch at Crystal Palace, I don't have anything to recommend for counter service. In this instance I'm looking for quality over quantity.

Thanks

(in the meantime...I'll be crusing the reviews....it's just nice to have one thread to direct them to)

I would suggest Columbia Harbour House. Very good food.
The last time we were there we had the Fish 'n Chips (very yummy, crispy, not too greasy), tuna sandwich (delicious, and very good multi-grain bread), Hummus sandwich with broccoli slaw (I think it's called the Lighthouse) which is amazing! and clam chowder, which my DD (4 at the time) took from me and I barely got any back. It was pretty good!

Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's are my two choices. That's all we ever go to for CS at MK.

Cosmic Ray's has good burgers and fries (and you can build them better at the toppings bar: grilled onions, mushrooms, pickles, cheese sauce for the fries, etc). This last trip we also had the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and ribs combo plate (w/ mashed potatoes and green beans), very good. Nephew had the chicken sandwich... said it was good, and he ate it all, which was unusual for him all week! I would have added goodies to it at the bar, but he liked it plain.

Pinocchio's Village Haus has a decent deal, we get the Veggie Pizza Combo which comes with a side salad. Doesn't sit hard on the tummy like pepperoni sometimes can.

Those are the only MK meals I've had, except for a turkey leg from a cart in Frontierland (I think!). I also had Columbia Harbor House as an option for this last trip, but we didn't make it there at mealtime.

I think all of the CS places get both good and bad reviews, but we've always been happy with our meals.

:hippie:

Another vote for CHH. We get the mirror image ROEDISNEY's order. Tuna for me and Hummus for the wife. I don't typically order tuna in restaurants, but it's really, really good and the hummus sandwich is as unique as it is tasty. It's also nice to sit upstairs and take a little break.

I like Cosmic Rays. The only drawback is that not all entrees are available at every register. So depending on what your family wants, you may have to split up or wait in multiple lines.

Cosmic Ray's
DH and I split the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and ribs combo plate and get an extra drink.

Peco's Bills
DH and I split the double bacon cheeseburger and fries and get an extra drink. Just ask for an extra plate when you get your order. Once you add everthing from the toppnigs bar, 1/2 of a burger is plenty.

Another vote for Columbia Harbour House! The food in Cosmic Ray's is fine to me, but I can't stand the set up and can never get a table.

CHH or Pecos Bills I love both! Different offerings from burgers at CHH and a nice relaxing sitting, PB has the best burgers, taco salad and toppings bar but is always pretty crowded

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe (good 1/2 Chicken and BBQ Rib Combination served with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable )

Columbia Harbour House (great Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun and Fried Fish Basket)

We always have CP for lunch at 11:45 and the another we do counter at MK...if we don't head back to our resort

I love that first lunch seating. Get to the park early, get Fantasyland and Indiana Jones doen right away...maybe even Buzz and then a nice lunch! Then I'm good to go for hours of park strolling, my B-list attractions and some shopping! :thumbsup2

We like getting to MK early too and doing Fastasyland and toontown then CP...I like early lunch too b/c you get to the first of the buffet. Then the other day of Disney we do counter but CP is always a must for my son and husband each trip at Disney. But next time I do want to try breakfast at CP.

Columbia Harbour House is a new favorite for me. The food was a nice change of pace, but the best part was that there were plenty of tables available in a comfortable atmosphere!

If you are going during peak times/days, you'll find space to sit there.

I've always loved Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill but sometimes they get very crowded and the burgers get tiring after awhile.

CHH- right across from the Haunted Mansion

My all time favorite is Pecos Bill's. They have an excellent fresh toppings bar that includes sauteed mushrooms and onions for your burger. Their pickles are the best!

If you are looking for something other than burgers or wraps, try Columbia Harbour House. Their food is very fresh and different from most standard CS fare. The upstairs room is a nice retreat from the hussle and bustle of the parks, too.
