Magic Kingdom closing at 8?

Have a trip planned for the first week of March. Noticed MK closes at 8 most nights. Is this normal or likely to change?

VERY LIKELY to change! It is waaaaaay toooo far out to predict park hours for March.

If you look at Touring Plans historical calendars you will see they should extend hours. It’s a pretty reliable guide.

Yeah - Disney's calendar that far out these days is basically bare bones. They'll (in all likelihood) update hours closer to your date.

While you can't always use the past as a guide, this past March saw mostly 10, 11, & 12 closings with a few 9pm's early in the month (caveat that Easter was 4/1 this year, so that last week of March had hefty hours).

We booked our late November trip in April. Between then and now the posted hours for all parks have changed multiple times. Last change was just last week. Very difficult to make plans to see shows, ADR's, FP's, etc. when Disney won't state the hours until a few weeks prior. So yes, the hours will change, most likely a few nights will be extended.

They usually do this to fix the "fireworks" time. For example, if park closes at 8, they will list HEA at 8, reserve dessert parties for 8pm. If then they change to 10 pm closing (very likely), the fireworks will remain at 8 pm. If they change to midnight though, then fireworks will probably be moved up to 10 pm (not so likely).

They usually change 8 pm closing to 10 pm closing, and maybe add evening 10-12 am EMH. And if they have 10 pm closing they probaly update to 12 am closing. Sometimes, in special very crowded weeks, they can add up to to 4 hours of extra park time, including both extending general hours and adding EMH.

If then they change to 10 pm closing (very likely), the fireworks will remain at 8 pm. If they change to midnight though, then fireworks will probably be moved up to 10 pm (not so likely).

They almost never change the fireworks time at MK once it's posted.
