Hey all!

Just saw an update from about a week ago on this and was curious what you all thought. It looks like the two new planters have been "installed" (i.e. the concrete borders have been poured) and markers have been placed in the soil, however, the red concrete is still in place and the hardware/landscaping hasn't been added to the new planters as of yet. What are the chances that this phase is completed and the partners statue is once again uncovered and accessible by late June/first week of July?

That phase should definitely be completed by July.

Good to hear. We can deal with construction, in fact, last summer when we went the walls were still up and construction was still taking place for Plaza Gardens East/West. We're looking forward to being able to check that out this year. I'm just fond of the Partners statue and love to get pics of my girls with it every year we go. I'd hate to have a pic of a green box. I'm not going to get my hopes completely up, anything can happen, however, I'm hopeful that they can bang the rest of it out over the next month and a half. Your reply is reassuring.

Based on how long the other half took it should only be closed off for a few more weeks.

This is the one project recently for which they have moved swiftly. It should be about 90% (or more) completed by they time we arrive late August. Every other project should move at this pace.

Well it's done that way for several reasons. One it's been built in sections which makes it go quicker than just working on it overall. Then disney wants this done so they have more space to push people in therefore more money to get the project done quicker.

I'm counting on that. lol. Seems to me they'd really want that central plaza done by the 4th to get those crowds in. Having been there for the 4th before, backing people up even further because of the walls could create even more congestion, worse than what existed prior to the expansion. I know they did the first half of the hub prior to spring break for this very reason. Then they stopped, took the walls down, uncovered partners and got through spring break. Once those crowds died down they put the walls back up, shut down Walt and Mickey and then began working on the other half. This half only includes the two planters and the concrete (not the two planters, the concrete, AND the Partners planter), so I would expect it to go much faster than the other side. As of now, both new planters are in, just no hardware or landscaping, and the concrete is still the old red. I doubt the repouring of the new concrete would take that much time. The second, outer ring on the other hand, that still appears to be a ways away as far as I can tell from pictures coming in.

All such helpful info y'all. Thanks. I was getting worried about the construction. Last time I was in WDW I had a crane in my castle shots and this time thinking there will be a green box in them would stink.

Just saw a photo update from yesterday (on the other board) and the Partners area is moving along a little faster now. They're now in the process of repaving. Most of the red has been ripped up, rebar is in place and in some spots the beige pavement has been put down. Both planters had been constructed for about a week, but now the new light and speaker structures are in place. You can even see the sprinkler heads for the planter beds. So at this point it looks like they just have to finish repaving, plant the flowers and shrubs, and put up the planters hardware (rails/fencing). I'm finally feeling like this part will be done by Independence Day.

Here are a few pics I snapped yesterday (5/25/2015) of some of the construction at Magic.
