Just a quick note, the Magic Kingdom is at a phase 2 level closing.

First parade is at 12:30, so it should reopen after the parade.

I just want to point out.. this is busier than usual.. Christmas Eve isn't usually a phase closure day. Might be an indicator of the whole Christmas to NYE season (and why the first week of January has unusually long hours).

May need to be more vigilant for closures at DHS and AK over the next few days if it's really this busy.

We were there last year, and although we had fun, it was crazy. I'm very glad to be sitting it out this year. We are going jan19-27th, which should be much better.

In addition, Guests from Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels arriving by bus are included (Best Western Lake Buena Vista, Buena Vista Palace, Doubletree Guest Suites, Hotel Royal Plaza, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, The Hilton Lake Buena Vista). Also included are Golden Oak residents as well as registered Guests of Golden Oak residents.)

Wow! I have always wanted to go on Christmas, but I don't think I will ever be brave enough.

Weird.. just pulled up wait times and "small world" is the worst with 100mins. Most things are under an hour, only things like Space Mountain are at 90mins. The other mountains are like 45 and Pirates/Mansion are like 25mins. Mermaid is at an hour.

It has to be the parade and them shutting things down because Main Street is a hot mess.

So glad we went yesterday! lol it was a perfect day. We utilized the EMH & never waited at all for any of the rides we wanted! I would come back at Xmas but you just have to have a good plan, be flexible, and use the EMH.

I imagine that the opening of New Fantasyland has a lot to do with it this year. It's not really the same as a "normal" year.

:earsboy:

Alot depends on how the calendar falls. With Christmas being Tuesday, my office is closed today and tomorrow. Next year Christmas is Wednesday and we only have that day off but they gave us a "floating holiday" to take when we want. My office is not closed New Years Eve but alot of people are taking it as vacation.

We were there today and we arrived at the parking lot about 830 and we didn't physically get into the park until 930. It was packed and almost like Christmas Day bad. It doesn't shock me that they got to level 2 at all. Space Mountain was 95 minutes standby at 10:00. I was just crazy!!

Question: Does anybody know if they upped the number of people they let in the parks, as they have opened the new section? I would think if they have let more people in, that would make matters worse. Not much in the way of new rides in the new Fantasyland to handle more people.

We cancelled all our plans in the park today (desert party, BOG, etc) because we didn't want to deal with it in Christmas Day.

Usually the 26th is worse than the 25th. There have been a lot of capacity closures on the 26th in past years.

I also think the long weekend philosophy is playing into it this year. I know a lot of people who took off early Friday and aren't coming back to work until Wednesday or Thursday this week. Four days + four parks = Christmas crowds.
