I hope they do it in January, especially with the park closing at 8 on the nights I am going.

I think it's crummy when they close MK before 10-11pm on ANY night.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that. There's just something unfitting about leaving MK before 10pm. It's like some days your ticket buys 12 hours of park time, other days it buys only 10. It's always the guests choice whether they choose to spend their time and money in that park knowing the operational hours, but it doesn't make it suck any less when you are on vacation, have the ability to stay out late and MK closes at 7 or 8pm.

Well, I think that the crowds are there to keep MK open consistently until at least 10pm. Even on days when it closes early there are long lines.

That's what kills me about this event. I have no doubts how awesome (price aside) the event is, based on what I experienced back in the $12/E-Ride days. As great as it was, hard to justify it at the current price tag.

I really hope this is true, when this event was first announced I loved the sound of it. I don't expect it to be an option on my upcoming January trip, but if it was I would pay the $150/person for it. I understand how important it is to be at the parks at rope drop, and I have done it, but I hate mornings! I love sleeping in on vacation - hence vacation. With proper marketing, this event could have been sold out every night! Why didn't they try and market this as more of an "adults" night? Obviously don't place an age limit on it, but the adults on solo/couple vacations are much more likely to be able to stay awake during the late hours this was offered. Isn't Disney one of the most popular Honeymoon destinations? Put a spin on it to make it sound more appealing to those people.

I liken his to a low/mid crowd day when they choose to shut down half a ride- making the lines just as long as a heavy crowd day. So frustrating!

Just another way to nickel and dime you by charging more for less.

I'm extremely disappointed in their choice to start doing away with EMH yet charge $149 a person (a cost which will go up undoubtedly if they continue this) for a couple of hours that used to be free to resort guests.

Honestly, in situations like this I think if attendance was poor, the consideration for bringing back EMH might come back on the table, and trying to charge an arm and a leg for a formerly free service would be looked at more heavily.

Coming from the UK I pay for my tickets for the 2 weeks up front and have already booked and started to pay for my Holiday next December. It's bad enough that the parties mean early closing but if they put these on too then there will be more days when MK closes early. Its fine to pay the $149 if its all you paid for your time in the parks but I would have already paid for my daily ticket and expected to pay $149 EXTRA on top of it for a further possible 3 hours. We paid for the MVMCP last time but even that we are not sure about next time with the prices probably going to be around $120 next year for that event. How many times can WDW make you pay for the same day you pay your ticket for. If the park has reduced hours they should offer reduced normal ticket. We were hoping to start to come to WDW every year but its starting to look like we will be priced out in a couple of years time at this rate.

I mean - it's stupid - they sell liquor by the gallon and they're just robbing themselves. But I get it.

But it's vastly different than closing magic kingdom in steady crowds at 8 pm...it's out and out a sham. No angles...no "it's worth it to me"...this is an economic black
And white issue.

You just have to be Honest about it.

And this is exactly what I'm thinking when I rail on this.

Fact: tickets are well over 200% the price from 15 years ago

Fact: on a normal daily ticket the cost per hour is somewhere between $7-$12 an hour on a one day ticket...multidays can get much cheaper.

Fact: $50 per hour is sheer economic extortion.

This is not a matter of budget or "finances"...this is them abusing their own operational failings that have resulted in large swarms of people at higher prices.

It's not "perceived value"...it's above that threshold. Not Adam smith...not laisse faire

The most likely reason is to maintain a consistent schedule for the large amount of international (dirt cheap) employees...

Makes sense from an operational standpoint.

But most would superficially say "they don't want drunks in the dark"

Drunks are bolder in the day...and they are "A Ok" with that.
