We are taking our DS who is 4 1/2 to DW for the first time in less than 3 weeks! Can MK be experienced and enjoyed in just 1 day or do you really need 2? We were planning on doing MK and HS each for a day and then Sea World for a day but am now wondering if MK needs two days and to skip Sea World. Thanks for any advice given!

1st time? I'd take the 2 day route. You can do it in one, but you should really take your time and let them experience everything.

Based on our experience six years ago with an almost 4 year old I would say 2 days. We just could not spend the whole day in MK without a break, meaning that we only saw half the park.

This year we are planning at least two days for MK, plus and extra day to do anything we might want to revisit (probably MK again). Moral of the story, if you can spare two days, then spend two days at MK.

I think you would miss lots of things if you only did one day. You could enjoy the MK much more it you took two days- and you would even get to ride favorites multiple times. MK is our favorite park. We usually hit it at least 3 times in a week long trip.:cool1:

Even though I am a big Sea World fan, I would say two days at MK. Our kids are 11, 9 and 5. They always want at least two days there (and Epcot) sometimes 3 if we are there long enough!

Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

I always take 2 days for MK if I can, especially with a 4 year old. :goodvibes

2 days for sure, so your able to enjoy everything and not feel rushed.

Definitely two days. We took our 4 year old in 2007, and only went to MK one day. We were there for rope drop at 8:30a.m.and left about8:00 p.m. We were there at a busy time, but we didn't get to everything. We never in made it to Tommorowland.

We did a straight 3 days at MK for our DD's (3.5 yo) first trip and saved the other parks for our next visit. I would recommend at least 2 days at MK.

Keep in mind that a 4 year old is not going to want to ride a bunch of the time-consuming rides (read: lines), but she WILL want to suck in all the fairies/princesses/characters she has grown up with.

Tip #1: Get a stroller. She may be the best walker around, but her legs are only 18" long.

Tip#2: Inside shows are your best friends: read "air conditioning."

Tip #3: don't forget to bring food & drink. dehydrated 4 year olds cannot be resuscitated - they are done for the day.

I usually do 2 days at MK to enjoy everything and to not seem like we are on a mission to save the world to everyone around us. I have done one day, but it was crazy and stressful.

I'd do MK for 2 days. 100%
:cool1:
pixiedust: Have a magical day!

SURELY do 2 days. You STILL won;t see everything. But it will be waaay less stressful.

Sea World is a 2 day park too!! Skip it this time and hit it next trip!

Don't underestimate DHS...it was my 4 year olds favorite park.loved playhouse disney, toy story ride, meeting buzz woody, lightning mcquuen and mator.he also loves the little einsteins so the character breakfast with leo and june was highlight of trip.little mermaid show was also great.

have fun

MK has so many rides, and at that age, that is a very good thing!...less walking between things, plus the railroad to get you around if necessary. It is magical for them there!...meet and greets in toontown, shows, the castle in the middle.

I think HS has much less to offer a child that age...The Beauty and Beast show, The Little Mermaid Show, Playhouse Disney Live, Toy Story Mania (be there at opening if you want to be sure to get a fastpass,) and the Parade are all I can think of that really appeal to that age there. Perhaps you could see MK 2 days and then go to Seaworld. :confused3

You will have a wonderful time whatever you choose, but research the activities available and what seems most engaging!

Disney is so huge, MK is our favorite park and we hit it just about once every single day, and we're there for 9-12 nights. We have AP's and usually stay at WL for the boat convenience to get there. MK is usually the last park to close, later hours and we'll end our nights up there, it's just a great park in the evening, just ambling around thru the different lands.

Well I guess I'm in the minority, but a four year old is really going to want to spend a majority of time in fantasyland & riding those rides so if you get to MK right at rope drop you could probably get most of those rides in by the first hour & then take it leisurely the rest of the day seeing characters, parades, etc. We took DD for the first time when she was 2 1/2 & she kept wanting to ride small world over & over again, which we gladly did since it was all about her anyway. We actually managed to do quite a bit that day as far as rides, the parade, etc. Did we see everything? Nope, but we knew we wouldn't anyway. Of course we've been back many many times since so it didn't really matter. I definitely agree with a PP & get a stroller. It will be a life-saver no matter what you decide.

If you have kids, then you DEFINITELY need two days. My DH and I are only spending a day at MK, but that's because we will not be bringing kids.

Do you only have 3 days to spend at the parks? While I do agree that MK would usually need 2 days, I wouldn't go 2 days if you only have 3 days to spend in the parks. I would definitely choose another park to go to. Would you consider Epcot or AK?
