Magic Key Park Hopping after 1 PM WITHOUT checking into first park?

If I have a Disneyland Magic Key park reservation for the Disneyland side, and if it's AFTER 1 pm, can I go straight to California Adventure WITHOUT first checking into Disneyland? (Assuming the park has capacity.) Or do I still need to go to Disneyland first before park hopping to the Cal Adventure side?

No, you must enter the park for which you have a reservation before you can hop. You can just scan your ticket, enter the park, and then just turn right around and go to the other park.

Yes, if you arrive after 1pm, you may start at either park. You do not need to scan info your starting park first.
I had a reservation for DL on 11/16, the day of the Merriest Night. I arrived at 4pm. I went into DCA for some festival food first, then into DL around 5pm. No issues.

Yep! Just remember the 1pm rule.
