Magic, January 16, 2010--Winter Day Castaways

Happy Turkey day to you too Shellcruiser!!! :cool1:

...this is the 4th January cruise we have been on...and after Thanksgiving the time just FLIES by!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY ALL!!!!.Anyone doing the black friday thing tomorrow? I've done it 2 years in a row, but not sure if I'm into it tomorrow. Not really anything I need and the stuff I want is online at midnight. Ahhhh, decisions, decisions:). 51 days to go!!!!:dance3:

This may sound like a dumb question, but how can you tell if the black friday things you want will be available online? I hate going out to the crowds so early in the morning, but there are a few things that I really needed to get. Can I just go online to their website and buy it there? If it helps, I specifically needed a few things at walmart.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope that your enjoying your families and your holiday.

I surprised my mom last night it was so much fun. She saw me and stared at me and it did not fully process that I was there for a good minute or two until she realized that I was there. He he it was fun.

Just got back from Black Friday shopping...what a mess. The retailers in our area did a nice job of "organizing the chaos", but the lines are always horrendous. I did get almost everything I planned to pick up:cool1: Now it's time to decorate the house. I love having the house decorated for Christmas, but I dread pulling all the stuff out of storage.

I'm sure she was thrilled... what a nice surprise for her!

...why is it that you can put away lights in January, and they're all working, and then when you pull them out a year later, none of them work.

:lmao::lmao: No answers here. :confused3

hgon76 - I saw a post of yours on another thread about a private tour you booked on St Maarten. Can you post that link here or PM me? We currently have the mountain hike booked but for the price your tour sounds too good to be true. I want to suggest it to my dad.

:confused3:rotfl:HaHa! I don't know. I took out my "indoor" xmas decorations and thankfully :worship: all those lights work. The ones I usually have problems with are the "outdoor" lights. The "icicle lights" we hang outside in particular. AND, they usually work when we pull them out. It's after a couple weeks of being on our house that inevitably ONE strand goes out:scared1:!!! EVERY year! I'd much prefer that they would be out when we take them out of storage;), at least that would save us the trouble of hanging them and taking them down when they die:lmao: Well, Turkey Day is done. We're moving right along. We'll be on the Magic singing "Hey Baby" and counting down before we know it!

Well, I took the lighting fiasco as an opportunity to switch to LED lights. Dang, those things are bright.

Got the local tree lighting tonight with my parents driving up. That's always a fun time.

:lmao: Our neighbor put up some VERY bright icicle lights this year. Maybe they are LED. Anyway, they can function as security lights for our home. Good deal he pays the power bill, and we have a well lit front yard:rotfl::rotfl:

I just noticed this today. Sorry, I didn't get back to you sooner. We booked Bernards Tours in St Martin. www.bernardstours.com We used him last year and many in our group thought it was the best part of the entire trip. It was $35pp and that included: a stop for souvies, a stop to look at and hold sea urchins, about 1 1/2-2 hours at the beach to swim, then to Maho beach (the beach at the airport), he times it so you can see the planes take off/land if at all possible, then another quick unexpected stop for a new camera (mine had an unfortunate run in with a wave):sad2:, then back to the ship (there is still plenty of time to shop their also at the shops on the pier). And his van was fully stocked with beer, water, juice, soda, and rum punch (all free of charge). Of course the $35pp is w/o the tip. We tipped about $50 (2 families of 4 : $25 each family) So totally worth it!:thumbsup2. And in light of everything that has gone on at the other ports (robberies), I have to say that at no time did we feel one bit unsafe. His tours have a great reputation.

Joe and I have also booked with Bernard looking forward to it.

In St. Thomas we are booked with a private sail to St. John which includes lunch and snacks if anyone is interested in joining us please pm me right now it is just the two of us and he really needs 6 people to go on the trip to cover his expenses. It is called rumbaba charters and I found their info over on "cruise critic".

About to go shopping with a girlfriend, are we shopping for Yule? no.

We're going to meet for champagne and oysters and then go look for swimsuites and other cruise wear! Maybe I'll get DH a present of a Hawaiian shirt.
