Magic, January 16, 2010--Winter Day Castaways

I'd like to do one family excursion type of thing with beach, snorkeling etc. It appears that none of them offered on the cruise ship allows for children under 5.

Suggestions?

Also, anybody else going to go SCUBA diving?

here's what we are doing:

St. Maarten: Bernards Tours (tour with beach stop) the kids and I have our own snorkel equip., but I know that there are rental places on the beach. The tour is $35 per person and I have heard really good things about it!

St. Thomas: We were debating going to St. John - but I have chickened out. We are doing te Doubloon sail and snorkel. I know the age limit is 5 - but I was also looking at a similar excursion called Fury Charters. They are actually rated #1 on trip advisor. There is no age limit on this one and they said they love kids! Just google fury charter st thomas.

Hope I helped! My DS just turned 5 this month so I just made it by the skin of my teeth!!

The Fish Extenders and DIS was a lot of fun so I am glad to here it it going on during this cruise... I know the first group of Fish Extenders is closed, but would anyone be interested in starting a second group?

I am counting down the days. I just got my cabin and got and UPGRADE!!!!
We are on Deck 6. It is really funny becuase we are 6 doors down from the cabin we were in last time...:cheer2:

Welcome aboard :cool1:

Just to clarify we haven't actually closed the first group of Fish Extenders. I posted earlier today for anyone interested to PM me with their info. I will be more than happy to add new folks or as I mentioned in an earlier post I could organize a separate group of newly registered cruisers. Looks like several cabins may be interested. Please PM with your info and I will add you to the list tonight.:thumbsup2

Has anyone ever done an excursion by themselves? My dh is going to do some deep sea fishing at St. Maarten and I just don't want to do that. Would it be weird to go on an excursion by myself??
When is everyone doing Bernard's tours? Maybe I could tag along as a single on one of his tours?? Any thoughts??

No there is nothing wierd about that come join us!

Has anyone NOT gotten their docs yet??? My aunt hasn't gotten hers & she lives the next street over from me. I got mine over a week ago. Wonder if it has anything to do with new cruisers vs. return cruisers in how they send them out:confused3.

We haven't gotten ours yet, and this is our first Disney Cruise. When I talked to the DVC rep last week, she didn't seem concerned about it and said it would come 2-3 weeks prior to.

Hi All... We just booked a cruise this week...:

Welcome!

Yes, count me in on the facebook thing. Sounds fun. If you need to invite, then My name on there is Michelle Simecek. :)

Michelle, for some reason I can't get an invite to you. Not sure why.

WOW!! I work all weekend and I feel like I've missed so much.

Welcome, Welcome, to all of those new to our thread! :dance3:

I'm going to have to go back and catch up and will post more later.

I got a Set of brochures titled "My Cruise Travel Kit"...it's just info on excursions, dining etc. plus my letter of confirmation. Is this different than the cruise documents everyone is mentioning here? I'm not sure what the actual cruise documents are.

once while in nassau, DH and I signed up for a snorkel trip. When we arrived at the "charter" we were the only ones! It was kind of creepy at first, but we got into a conversation with the operator and in the end DH stayed on the boat while I snorkeled alone. The good part was there was no one else to scare off the fish, plus I didn't have to worry about getting too far from the group. The boat operator just floated along whereever I chose to go. I know that's not what you were refering to, but sometimes the best memories come from just going with the flow. If you want to do something that DH doesn't I wouldn't be at all concerned about signing up to a group activity or tour.:thumbsup2

I'd like to be part of the Facebook group. My name is Susan Brothers. Yes, I have been checking online daily. It just says CAT 12 GTY and no cabin number. No docs yet obviously either. Maybe they forgot about us!

Cruise docs are a little book that contains your luggage tags, cruise contract, payment authorization forms, etc. The envelope actually says special cruise documents enclosed.

Also, did you notice that you are up to 10 posts?!? You are now able to send PMs.

If anyone a runner? My husband runs 1/2 marathons and was intersted in running the Castway 5 K if anyone wants to joing him

Hi Susan, there's multiple Susan Brothers on facebook. If you could PM me your email address, then I can invite you that way.

So, I had a DisMeet nightmare!

We were on the boat and I was so tired that I laid down for a nap. I woke up at 3pm and DH was no where to be found. I had to find clothes, get a whole bunch of crap together (not sure why) and then I had to find the lounge. But the lounge wasn't where everyone said it would be. I got there at 3:29 and everyone was in the middle of a party game. The game was 'be the last one to unwrap the spatula' and the winner got two bottles of wine. My thought was 'that's the second worst party game I've ever seen'.

Okay..my documents came today..so now I've really got them.

Anybody doing a day or two at Disney prior to the cruise?
