My son was getting sick of pictures at this point :)

I have some better ones that aren't on this computer, but these were easy to post.

These are great! Don't know that mine will be in a long dress this go around, but they look gorgeous!

Evening everybody

All those photos are so good. I gotta go scrounge around for mine, even though they aren't as good:rotfl: They're around here somewhere.

Evening everyone! My dd is so excited that there are going to be kids her age on the ship (she will be 11 1/2). DS (13) likes sports, basketball on the sports deck is a favorite activity.

We are doing a major countdown for October, especially tonight- they are calling for 'catastrophic' weather here the next two days- Ice first followed by a lot of snow. We are just hoping to keep power. So it is nice to look at everyone's pictures and dream of warmth.

We are flying in on Friday and will probably rent a car and stay at either CI&S or Residence Inn. We have stayed at both and liked both. We usually rent from Hertz, and their office is right in front of the Residence, which is also near the CI&S. It is really easy to drop off in the morning and catch their shuttle to the port. We rent the car so we can hit the Publix to fill up on beverages to carry on:cool1:

Here is a link to a discussion I started over on the main board some time ago.

Formal Photos

,
Oh my goodness! Great pics of your 'formal' night thread...Does make me a little nervous.
Do most of you guys wear tuxes? What's the consensus? My dh and his dad, DO NOT want to do tuxes. My dh says.."I don't do tuxes unless I'm in a wedding"..lol I would love for them too. Right now, the coat and tie is all I'm gonna win. Bu-u-u-u-ut if ALL of you really do wear tuxes, I'll have a bargaining tool! teehee

Hi Everyone! We were originally on the 10/15 Western cruise and now we are on this one because DS's fall break got moved up a week. We haven't been on a cruise since 2009, so we are really excited about this. It will be our first 7 night cruise.

I was just coming on to find out how many of us are going to be hit by this storm popcorn::

For us here we'll get rain, and true to freaky VA weather are currently headed for 70 on Weds. That leaves us out of the snow and ice. Jim Cantore is already in Chicago. So that's probably not going to go well there:rotfl2:

This whole winter is beyond freaky. Freakiest winter I've ever seen.

As far as hotels go, I want to do CI&S again myself. Trying to get a great deal, though I may just redeem some of my Gold points and split the difference. Most of the emails they send only go a few months in advance. Don't think i want to wait much longer to book.

I'm sorry Madalyn. You're bargaining chip has decreased by 1:rotfl2: I'm perfectly happy seeing Dh all dressed up in a suit. Not gonna make him rent a tux. And I have yet to decide how formal I'm going to dress myself(note to self: start shopping for shoes now)

Last time on Formal night we actually ate at Palo, so I really can't say for the main dining rooms just how many wore tuxes. But I'm sure the guys will look nice no matter what.:thumbsup2

:welcome: LC30 :welcome:

Glad to have you join us. You're gonna LOVE the 7 night cruise:love: DH refuses to do anything less than 7. It gives you time to relax and re-charge and time to play if you like:woohoo:

I'm list keeper so when you get a chance take a look at the link in the first post and then send me anything you'd like to add to our little list. And I'm also organizing the FE exchange if you'd like any info on that.

Take your time, catch up, and jump in whereverpopcorn::

Ahhhh gee thanks! I've resolved myself to the fact the only tux he was EVER going to wear was at our wedding..and I did good at that! I did notice though that the majority of the pics ppl posted, the women had LONG dresses and guys tuxes. I'd just be happy in a 'little' black dress, but wasn't sure whether thats considered 'formal' enough. I'm hoping those 'formal' pics don't represent the majority and that it's 50/50...what do ya think?

Formal and semi formal nights are really freaking me out!! I don't like to dress up and I don't want to have to buy the kids special outfits and I don't want to have to PACK fancy clothes!! I was hoping capris would work for everything.

Forgive me....I'm VERY used to Disney World where we live in shorts and go to all the table service restaurants in shorts. (so no, no Cali Grill or Victoria and Alberts for us!)

Are y'all in St Louis? Down here close to Memphis, our weather has gone cuckoo...It was a balmy 70 Saturday, 60 here today, and Wednesday night down in the 30's...could even get a little snow. For Elvis country, we've had more snow here this month than in quite a while...I love it..but most ppl here just don't know how to drive in it (ex..my dear dh)...Hope everyone fares well in all this freaky weather!

lol...that's us in the world too! That's why when I saw all those formal pics, I started getting a little 'nervous'...:) Mind you, I still wouldn't mind getting 'dressed up' but I knew before this train got rolling, that my dh, and dh dad just wanted to wear coats and maybe a tie! I just don't want to be the only family that sticks out..ya know?

I would not worry about it. Do your thing. Don't worry about what others are doing on Formal night. I just wear a jacket and tie. Right after dinner it back to my shorts and t-shirt. I do not do pirate night as Johny Deep ruined my vision of a Pirate and made me praticly hate Pirates and the ride. I just show up to that dinner in slacks and a button up shirt. If people want to dress up that night, all good, I choose not to and don't care. Sorry if this sounded harsh, just I have bigger things to worry about in this world like Formal or Pirate night.

The only dressing up on pirate night for this family of 7 will be 12yr dd...I've been told not to expect anything else from my crew..lol. It's all good though. I'll be excited enough for all of us just to be able to see and do everything!

Great attitude. A word of advise, don't try and do everything. You will drive yourself nuts. Just enjoy.

:goodvibes Wish I could do everything..but with the dynamics of our 'extended ' family coming, its gonna be different to be sure. I'll have some that want to just 'hang', some that want to keep going (dh), some that can't keep going (and I'll hear about it:rotfl:), and some that are happy just to be ON it (me and dd12)...
I'm not even sure I'll be at the meet...:upsidedow = me trying to organize just us 7!
