Wow, I feel like I have fallen off the face of the earth because of the holidays. How the heck is everyone? :confused3

We are getting hit pretty hard with all of the snow and the very very cold temps. I wish I was on Castaway Cay instead of freezing :beach:

Welcome back. I share your wish for better temps. We are supposed to get hit with yet another snow storm tomorrow and then bitter bitter :scared1::scared1: cold behind that. We need to see more of this (CC sunrise) instead.

OH AMEN to that Sunrise:worship: Really hits the spot with the weather. We fared pretty lucky down here. A little ice in places but my neck of the woods had no real problems.

It looks like we here in Delaware are not going to get too bad. Maybe a few inches but supposed to be in the teens after that. Burr :scared1::scared1:. Need more warm sunrises from my verandah.

Yikes!!!! That is pretty cold. I know around here in Southwestern PA it is supposed to hit about 30, so hopefully it will warm up for you guys!

I don't know if anyone is an Alton Brown (of Food Network fame) fan, but he has a show called Feasting on Waves. (It was actually done a few years ago.) But, the whole premise of the show is he goes on a yacht with his crew and sails around the different islands in the Caribbean.

Last week, he went to St. Martin! It was really interesting to see all of the local food that he ate including drinking something called Island Mauby. Here is the video

Have any of you, who have been to St. Martin try it?

Good Morning Cruisers

I am on vacation until Mon:worship::wizard:

Now if i were just on the ship it'd be prefect:rotfl:

I like Alton sometimes. His Good Eats is ok sometimes, but I really love his Emcee bit for Iron Chef. I think he shines there. Haven't seen the waves show. I haven't tried anything local at all on St. Martin. May or may not change on this trip, we'll see. Last time we just walked around the beach and shopped in Phillipsburg then had a late lunch back on the Magic.

This is a good question for TIGGER/POOH4. They've been several times I believe.

We have been on 2 DCL Easterns but only visited St Marteen once. We did St Marteen/Nassua in oct 2008 and St Croix/St Thomas in oct 2009. When we did visit St Marteen in 2008, we did the same as you in visiting Phillipsburg and Great Bay beach. Due to the Magic was leaving early with Hurricane Omar on the way, we did not want to stray too far from the ship. We did not eat lunch on the island as we decided to head back to the ship. Sorry but we can't help you on this one. The family does like to watch the Food Channel especially our daughter. Even though Man vs Food on the Travel channel has been getting a lot of play time recently.

You are cuurently looking for this weekend at low 30s during the day and mid teens at night. At least no more snow. We got 4 inches last night and we are pretty well cleared out now. We were not paralized like the south. Went to work with no problems this morning. Good luck to you and safe travels.

Yeah, that was our reasoning too. Omar coming, so its better to be nearby the ship. Not sure if we'll do any local flavor this time either. Included meals on board make a case for sticking to souvenir shopping:lmao:

Off to Rehoboth in a little bit. Hope its a nice trip cause I can't wait to get there. Will be back Sunday night, and posting probably on Mon.

Have a great weekend everybody:thumbsup2

Thanks for the Palo birthday Tigger/Pooh! I myself am always willing to try out new drinks so I can't wait until we hit St Maarten/St Thomas/St John. Not to mention the drinks on board. I thought I saw somewhere that they had 2 for 1 drinks on Castaway Cay? Has anyone seen that? That would be great!:worship:
Anyway I get another birthday present this weekend with temps 40-43 which is warm for us. I won't have to be bundled up when we venture out to CO Springs. :rotfl: Here is hope to all of you hit with ice that it melts this week.
