Hey everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (to all you US peeps).

Lots has happened over the weekend in our house Cruise-wise.

Your resident Cruise Honeymooners have turned into your resident Cruise Bride and Groom. We've decided to get married on the cruise itself.

It ended up way cheaper to pay for both sets of parents to go on the cruise with us and get married then it did to have all the drama of a wedding in TN. I was freaking out because I am not from there and it would have been a destination wedding for me (though his family is there) and I didn't know any vendors or where to go.

So...why not let Disney take care of the details for these Disney freaks?

We are not going to participate in the Fish Extender I think because it would just be too much, plus we are adding at least 5 more rooms to our group.

We're still getting firmed up and will be calling shortly. Lots of details to iron out before we leap into it. Big "Family meeting" at my mothers tonight to talk about it.

I feel bad that I've put out some people who wont be able to attend now due to the cost. Most concerned about John's sister and my Matron of Honor. While my Matron of Honor has a home in FL, I know a cruise is a large expense.

But neither John nor I wanted a huge wedding with that huge expense and this was a great way to get married, have fun and spend lots of time with family and friends. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers two years ago and is starting with noticable effects now. So this is an extra special way to have a big vacation with time to spend with him while he can still somewhat enjoy it. He has a bit of trouble with getting lost and remembering. With so many family members in one place, especially ones that live far away from us, we can spend time with him, and help mom to give her a bit of a break while on the ship. So this will be an extra special time for us, knowing that each day we have with him is a blessing.

Right now we have going with us:

John & Beth - Bride and Groom - Room 6610
Dave & Nancy - Parents of the Bride
Jonathan (17) - son of the bride
Emma and Susie - Mother and sister of the Groom
Sharon & Ken - Aunt & Uncle of the Groom

Possible additions - they are thinking about it and getting info:
Barb, Rich, Derek (25), Megan (22), Ashley (16) - Cousins of the Bride
Marge & Tony - Matron of Honor and her husband
Lethia & Erik - Sister and Brother in law of the Groom

So that's 18 additional people.

Lots of questions in my head that I need to contact Disney for. We're on DVC points, so we need to add two rooms cash to our reservation. I also have tons of questions about the wedding itself and syncing our eating times/show times.

Since I'm a cruising newbie, I need your help. If you spot anything that I forget to think about, can y'all point it out to me?

Right now, I made sure to let them all know they need their passports. We're waiting on a few decisions, then we are going to book the extra rooms.

OOoh so much planning to do!

Are there any other brides on the cruise with us that anyone knows about?

Congrats :cool1::cool1: on getting married on the Magic. It will be a cruise you will not forget. DCL did not exist when we were married. Are you getting married on CC or on the ship? CC will cost you a grand but the background shots are priceless. Here are one pic from a wedding on CC from Oct 2007 and one from 2010. There is a thread over on the main forum for Disney Weddings and DCL specifically that can help. If you have any questions that you think we can help with, please ask away. Good luck to you on your special day.

We're hoping for CC to get married on. We're still chatting about it and going to call on Monday. They are closed today.

Good Luck on getting CC. No matter where ever you hold the ceremony it will be Magical and Wonderful. Also remember that you will actually be legally married JOP at the port before we leave with a ceremony on the Magic/CC. Here some pixie dust for you in getting what you want. pixiedust:

Bethshaya, there are group discounts if you have so many rooms. You should check into this. This may allow some of the individuals to be able to attend that may not have been elsewise. You should ask DCL regarding this.

OH WOW!

That's great. I'm so happy for you. You're going to have the time of your lives getting married on the ship. If I knew anything about it I'd tell you, but not a clue. If i were getting married on board I wouldn't do the FE either. You have enough to do :lmao:

As for cruising rates definitely check into the group rate and your MOH may be able to get a FL resident rate on her own. I know they do them, but not sure how it really works.

And for cruising itself, plenty of us here who can help with that part:thumbsup2

Thanks guys! I can't wait to cruise!

We're getting lots of calls from family and friends that are interested in learning more about the cruise in the hopes they can come. I put together some info for them and directed them to these boards and to the DCL site itself. I'll have more info for them when I call Disney directly.

Congrats. It looks like things are working out for you and your family.:cloud9: It will be a cruise to remember. If there is an information or questions we can help with, please let us know. Good luck with your calls with DCL tomorrow. With that many people you should be able to qualify for a group discount. You'll have to let us know how it went.

Evening cruisers

1 more day of work for me and THEN I get to die on Weds. OK, maybe I'll just sleep all day

Beth; I saw your thread on the main board. I'm so thrilled for you. How did the call go today?

TIGGER/POOH4: Thanks for the great pic from our last cruise. I remember it like yesterday. It really does not seem like 2 years have gone by since then. I think I'm gonna pick up the photo book I had made with pics from it and relive the memories tonight:thumbsup2

So here's a new question for everybody:

Now that we have our slogan and Oh so very cute logo graphic, would we want t-shirts or lanyards or something for everybody to ID us all when we get onboard?

I was lurking on other threads and a few of them are doing lanyards and t-shirts and buttons. All kinds of stuff.

I have no idea how to go about the lanyards, but I can Pm somebody from the threads I was lurking on. T-shirts have lots of options.

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Not much longer to go now:worship:

Congrats Beth on deciding on doing the wedding onboard! I am sure you will love it no matter where the ceremony is. Can some of your cousins share a room? Maureen, I love the button idea or T-shirts are good too. I think they can do that on Vistaprint? I will look at that too. I am on the countdown to our trip and am trying to do a million things at once. I have to work all week too so that just leaves evenings. We still have to finish packing frid and we leave Sat. DH has his list of thing to do today after his doc appt like go to the bank. They had the WDW Christmas holiday decoration show on HGTV last night so I got to watch it. It will be on again later this month if anyone is interested. It is last years show but still good since it is all about the magical world.:worship:

Evening cruisers

I made it through the work week, though I did no actual work today at all. Because re-shop does NOT count as work. Computer system went down at 7am for a system fix. Only things online were the registers. Said at 6:30 when I got told they could send me home. "We still need you!" system will be back up at 11.

11am...still waiting
11:15...back up in a half hour. (Went to lunch)
11:45...still waiting
11:30...1-1:30pm they'll be back up
1:30....still waiting
1:45-3pm..........................still waiting and finished shift.

No idea when they came back up or even if they are up, but my usual workday is so busy that it drove me nuts waiting. And if i had done all the re-shop that I did in the time I can normally do it, I would have had even more time on my hands than I did:sad2:

I hope everybody else's day was better than mine.

Laura: Have a great time on your trip:thumbsup2 I wish I were going. Could use a vacation right now.

As for t-shirts there are lots of options. Vista print does do them. Also I know other Cruise meet groups have used zazzle or cafe press to have stuff made. My last cruise we just did iron ons. So no shortage of stuff there.

Would love to hear more thoughts or suggestions. Lots of time to plan but it really does go by quick:cloud9:

Good morning cruisers

I am SO glad today is my day off. Turns out the computer system is STILL down and I'd be off anyway. That's 28hrs that its down and the store has officially shut down recieving. My job isn't that but is a basic inventory kind of thing and can't do that either. Might be off tomorrow too. We'll see.

:wave2: Well I will be off the site for awhile. We leave Sat and I won't be in touch with anyone until the 15th. I refuse to take my laptop on vacation so only take the cell phone. :lmao: I will be so enjoying the FL weather. Even cool there is warm to us. It is in the 40s here and that is warm.LOL. I will be in full force cruise planning when I get back and can't wait. It will be under our 10 month mark when I get back. I will tell you all about our first Disney Christmas.:santa: Till then.......

Good morning fellow cruisers. It is that time of the week again. Another week has gone by.
We now have only
arg-4-50-trans.gif
arg-4-50-trans.gif

weeks to go to the Magic. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Good morning cruisers

TIGGER/POOH4: I don't know where everyone else went except for Laura. She off to the World this morning. As for me I've been finishing a crappy week all around and have this 1 day off till tomorrow. Started officially job hunting online. We'll see where I wind up. Almost anything sounds better than Target right now.

As for 44 weeks: NOT SOON ENOUGH!!
We need to get rid of that first 4 so i can shop like mad and pack:rotfl2:
