Hey everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (to all you US peeps).
Lots has happened over the weekend in our house Cruise-wise.
Your resident Cruise Honeymooners have turned into your resident Cruise Bride and Groom. We've decided to get married on the cruise itself.
It ended up way cheaper to pay for both sets of parents to go on the cruise with us and get married then it did to have all the drama of a wedding in TN. I was freaking out because I am not from there and it would have been a destination wedding for me (though his family is there) and I didn't know any vendors or where to go.
So...why not let Disney take care of the details for these Disney freaks?
We are not going to participate in the Fish Extender I think because it would just be too much, plus we are adding at least 5 more rooms to our group.
We're still getting firmed up and will be calling shortly. Lots of details to iron out before we leap into it. Big "Family meeting" at my mothers tonight to talk about it.
I feel bad that I've put out some people who wont be able to attend now due to the cost. Most concerned about John's sister and my Matron of Honor. While my Matron of Honor has a home in FL, I know a cruise is a large expense.
But neither John nor I wanted a huge wedding with that huge expense and this was a great way to get married, have fun and spend lots of time with family and friends. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers two years ago and is starting with noticable effects now. So this is an extra special way to have a big vacation with time to spend with him while he can still somewhat enjoy it. He has a bit of trouble with getting lost and remembering. With so many family members in one place, especially ones that live far away from us, we can spend time with him, and help mom to give her a bit of a break while on the ship. So this will be an extra special time for us, knowing that each day we have with him is a blessing.
Right now we have going with us:
John & Beth - Bride and Groom - Room 6610
Dave & Nancy - Parents of the Bride
Jonathan (17) - son of the bride
Emma and Susie - Mother and sister of the Groom
Sharon & Ken - Aunt & Uncle of the Groom
Possible additions - they are thinking about it and getting info:
Barb, Rich, Derek (25), Megan (22), Ashley (16) - Cousins of the Bride
Marge & Tony - Matron of Honor and her husband
Lethia & Erik - Sister and Brother in law of the Groom
So that's 18 additional people.
Lots of questions in my head that I need to contact Disney for. We're on DVC points, so we need to add two rooms cash to our reservation. I also have tons of questions about the wedding itself and syncing our eating times/show times.
Since I'm a cruising newbie, I need your help. If you spot anything that I forget to think about, can y'all point it out to me?
Right now, I made sure to let them all know they need their passports. We're waiting on a few decisions, then we are going to book the extra rooms.
OOoh so much planning to do!
Are there any other brides on the cruise with us that anyone knows about?
