This is our first cruise too. I have a feeling that since we can't book anything until the 75 day mark that all the Palo ressies will be gone so I will be heading to where we can book Palo. I also want a spa ressie so will check on that if I can't get one ahead of time. Then off to someplace to eat until our room is ready. We are not breakfast eaters so we will be starving by then. Our plan is to stay at the Hyatt the night before and get the earliest time to go to PC in the am...

I would not give up on Palo. For the last 2 cruises in October there were ressies still available online at the 75 mark. I believe brunch was gone and you may not get the exact time you want but you stand a good chance that something will be available. Good luck. People had no problem getting multiple ressies once on board the ship. We will also be at the MCO Hyatt the night before. The first bus is at approx 9:30-9:45am leaving MCO.

Laura: I wouldn't give up on Palo. Our last cruise was our first cruise and we were able to book Palo, for six people, online before we left.

What we did first was to check into our room and then head up to Topsiders. Since we were being transported from WDW we didn't really have a choice as to what time we got there. But, the nice thing was we didn't have to wait in any kind of line. We just walked right on and went to our staterooms!!

Well I hope you guys are right about Palo. Is it better to go to Topsiders to eat lunch or parrot cay? I heard that parrot cay they bring you drinks but that is not really that important to us. Which do you guys think is better? We also plan on watching the deck party from deck 10 which I think has a better view..

Great pic. This looks like my cat6 stateroom. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OK, What a real cat 6 room looks like.

Yeah, 1 of these days I'll have to get a real live look at the Cat. 6 cabins. They sure good in the pictures:thumbsup2

OK, now for what we did on our last/first cruise upon boarding. We had to wait a bit for the shuttle so I don't think we made it onboard actually till around noon give or take.

Last time for Palo i had to get waitlisted onboard because I was still using the Dinosaur AOL dial-up connection. Good luck with that at 75 days out. This time will be no problem though thanks to cable broadband. Much easier.

We headed up to Topsiders for lunch last time too. I didn't even know until a couple of weeks ago(thanks to these boards) that Parrot Cay was even open for lunch. So we'll talk about where we want to go this time around. You do have to scout for a table up there but the view is fantastic. Truly fantastic.

I *think* I might go for a spa tour this time. Didn't last time and wish i had. But mostly i think we'll just play it by ear once we're on the ship.

I do agree with whoever said the view of the sailaway party is better from Deck 10. I think the only drawback to that is you may not see servers up there to get a drink. So this time*AND SOMEBODY PLEASE REMIND ME near to cruise time* I want to start on deck 9 for a bit and then go up.

You are always welcome to visit and hang out on the verandah any time. We are just down the hall so just stop by and we'll call room service for some mickey bars. :mickeybar Yum!!!!

Topsiders vs Parrot Cay is personal preference. If it is hot or raining I would definately choose Parrot Cay. The food is the same in both places. Since October tends to very nice weather wise, we like topsiders for the view and quick access to the pools. Either choice is good and you will not go wrong. One thing I should point out is that the CM's usually try to point you to either topsiders or Parrot Cay. You do not have to listen and you can go to either.

Awesome Ideas on what to do when we get there! We are staying at the VWL the day and night before the cruise... so we'll be there later i think from what i read on the boards... Maybe we'll drop our stuff off in our room and head up to PC! That would be awesome!

And Maureen thanks for the tip on the sailaway party! I'll have to stick that in my memory somewhere! :)

hehehe... thought i'd help you out :)

Its a very rainy, very windy morning here and I looked like a drowned rat!

This got me thinking... exactly what is the weather like this time of year in the Caribbean? This is not only our first cruise but our first trip anywhere out of the US. We've never been to the islands.

The weather is usually perfect! It is during hurricane season, but the temperatures are about the mid 80s and plenty of sunshine! It only rained once during our whole seven days.

It was raining earlier around here. But, for now it has stopped. But, it is still cloudy and there are huge piles of wet leaves everywhere. Since we live at the foot of a mountain, there was so much wind yesterday, it took all of the remain leaves off of the trees.

Evening fellow cruisers

No pic tonight. Getting stuff done so we can hit the road up to my parents' house tomorrow right after work. I don't DIS when I'm up there so y'all chat away while I'm gone and I'll catch up next week.

Hope everybody has a great weekend
