:goodvibesI re-booked on my Magic 5-12 cruise:goodvibes:I thought my husband and I had talked about taking the week of Columbus day for a vacation. (When I say "I thought" what I really mean is "there is no doubt in my mind")rolleyes:. I called my guy from Cozumel and told him I re-booked. To say he is unhappy would be an understatement. He picked me up from the airport and pretty much asked nothing about my trip which is completely out of the ordinary for him. He's warming to the idea and I just signed up for Rapid Rewards with Southwest so hopefully the airfare will be covered plus we got $200 OBC from Disney and another $200 from disney unlimited.
I am beyond excited but its been a while since I've been in charge of the arrangements so sort of nervous too - my sister is a disney fanatic and always takes care of the arrangements and I just write her a check.
Any suggestions on how to warm the guy to the plan? We don't have kids and he doesn't seem to get why we are going on Disney.
Tried to figure out the smile but - WOW that's alot of work!

:cheer2:Welcome mrsrotten:cheer2:
I wish we were paying what you lot are paying for flights. The joy of transatlantic flights we've payed over £3000 just for flights.:sad2:

Hi, i've just joined today and we are sailing on the Magic on the 8th. Hoping to join the Fe and i'm looking forward to getting to know you all before we go. This is our 2nd Disney cruises but first with a baby - has anyone got any tips? Our ds is 3 years and our dd is 9 weeks.

:welcome:kaye:welcome:
Mason will love doing the FE hope you decide on colours and style soon! :cheer2::tinker:

For all of us who are participating in the FE Exchange, here is the link to the spreadsheet. For changes just email or PM me with anything you want to add.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AvWIVBg4vfhGdDdVWDR1cUlnY0l0dnpqTmFPdkNzM0E&hl=en&authkey=CI2QvrkC

I also have questions for everybody in the exchange:

* Do we need a column for allergies?

I already have 1 for preferences. We can use it for allergies too if you like.

* How do we feel about a final deadline for signups?

We want to give everybody enough time if they are crafting something as well as for those who have items ordered. I'll take suggestions for dates.

Remember there are NO Maximumsand only 1 Minimum of 1 gift per stateroom. You are only limited by your budget and imagination:thumbsup2

WOW!!:welcome: Aboard! This is our first, so we're learning so much from everyone! Can't wait to meet everyone on this thread too!

PHEW

Finally got a good link to the spreadsheet. Just wound up starting over again and recopying everything from the original. Bad value or something i guess:confused3

Anyway for the newbies to our thread and the DIS the FE Exchange is short for Fish Extender exchange. The short version of how it works is outside your room there is a fish. Those of playing will hang something cute from the fish. And while we go about our cruise days some lovely person in our group comes along and leaves surprises in our cute extender. Post 199 explains it more detail and i think i included other links in there as well.

I would have PMed ya'll but you have to start posting here because until you get 10 posts I can't Pm you:lmao:

So for those who have already signed on please make sure your info is correct. And please let me know your opinions on the questions as well. The overwhelming goal is to keep it fun:dance3:

Greetings fellow Cruisers!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I've enjoyed catching up on everyone's posts. I must say..this group is pretty awesome! So friendly and helpful! :grouphug:

DH & I have been CRAZY busy lately! We just keep telling ourselves Spring Break is right around the corner! We also just realized that our spring break is during EPCOT's Flower & Garden Festival....think we'll end up there? We tell each other that we do NOT need to go to WDW since we're already going twice this summer...let's see if we can hold out. :lmao:

Wow! Going twice huh? We're having withdrawals right now as I type! It's our spring break here in the south, and Mon/Tues it was dreary and cold. Today finally felt like spring with a balmy 78 degrees. This is our first ever Disney cruise but I do find myself wondering if we'll love it as much as the world. And we love CBR, so I'm hoping this cruise will be ever as much fun! :confused3 I dunno...:confused3 If I could go to the world and the cruise? YOU betcha!!:goodvibes

:welcome: aboard the Magic in Paradise cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Sorry I can not help you with baby tips. Mine are DD 12 and DS 10. Hopefully someone else can chime in. If you have any other questions, we will do our best to help.

I just wanted to add that my DH is Larry. Also the ages of the kids really help for us to know what to give each cabin. Just wanted everyone to know that. I have a question though. What if the gods are great and we get a (dare I say it?)upgrade? If we don't find out until we are boarding the ship then do we get a hold of you and let you know what the new cabin # will be? :confused3 Can we all just check at our Dis meeting to see if anyone changed cabins? that would be the best option I think but everyone will have to be there that is participating or let you know ahead of time I guess. My hope is that it won't be crowded and maybe someone will get upgraded.

I can SO see me on that boat!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Only 1 more day and we'll be under 30!!!

And where did you get this picture and how did you get the Captain to sign it? At the captain's reception?:goodvibes

I received this picture from DCL in my stateroom after I submitted a suggestion to the captain. It appeared that many other guests made the same suggestion. We were in St Maarten when Hurricane Omar came to town and we had to cancel going to St Thomas. Maureen will remember this well. DCL then changed the Magic to go to Nassua instead. We left a note that we would prefer 2 days at CC instead along with many others. The response along with this picture was it was too far to CC and by the time we got there is would be too late to dock. As it was we made to Nassau around 2pm. Bummer, two days at CC would have been great. This picture is actually a stock picture you can buy at Shutters if you wish. There is always a captain signing in Treasure Ketch on one of the sea days. It will be on your Navigator as for when it will be held.

Omar is coming :scared1:

I'm gonna have a message board on my door somewhere so anybody who's gets a room change or a lucky upgrade:wizard: can write a note on it and then I'll pass it along. And if everybody comes to the DISMeet then we can share there too:thumbsup2

My brain has been kind of fuzzy the last couple of days as I try to get allergies under control. So I haven't been thinking all that clear lately. Otherwise I might not have spent near to an hour last night trying to post the first spreadsheet link before giving up and just redoing it:lmao:

And I think the ages are a big deal for the kids too. Adults are adults but definitely want the kids ages included when everybody signs up.

I do remember this very well. Dh and I never even considered that 2 days at CC might be a possibility. But scuttlebut had it that Captain Thord didn't want to go to Nassau either. But it was the ONLY port that had a free dock for us. I never did find out where else he wanted to go, but Nassau wasn't it:lmao: My DH was happy though. An extra half day at sea thrilled him to pieces. I think his favorite part of the cruise were the sea days:rotfl2:

So what in the world did y'all find to do docking at Nassau so late? I don't imagine you had much time to tour? I'm just curious as I know October is hurricane season. I've been in one hurricane on the Destin beaches when it hit years ago, but think I've heard if you're on a cruise ship, you really fare better. I would PREFER not to give it another go while on the cruise, so I think I'll be praying towards that end!:goodvibes

Did many of the passengers get seasick due to worse waves? Were y'all at all concerned? Or did it come across that y'all just had to make a change of plans and no biggie....:confused3 Just curious....
