Got my cruise errands done(for today anyhow) Bounced over to party city and may pick up something Piratey we shall see:confused3 They had affordable options.

Time to get my but off this chair and continue FE gifts.

Tomorrow is Mass and then our Bark in the Park doggie festival. We're taking Onslow out, and see all kinds of doggie stuff:cool1:

Y'all are killin' me!! Gone for most of the day, and come back to a 'swashbuckling'...:rotfl:

So you better be waiving and smiling.:yay::yay: I know we do not have to worry about Madalyn in waiving and smiling. I hope the railing is high enough or she may bounce over in excitement. :rotfl::rotfl:

If I do bounce, it's not gonna be pretty! :)

Oh don't you worry about that:lmao::rotfl2:

I may beat Madalyn over the rails from excitement:rotfl:

All those excited...Come on down! :thumbsup2

I'll have several spare life preservers ready for you two. :lmao::lmao::rotfl2:

Funny, I already thought about those!

Madalyn = Sullins5

Yep, that's little ole me, living near Elvis, considered the disneychik around here, and yep, I am excited!:dance3:

We'll give you a personal life raft.

I saw that picture earlier, and thought "I want a picture beside that!" And if we go down at night? Glad that life raft has a light in it, cuz I won't be able to see a thing without my contacts!:rotfl:

And now for a serious thought...a little help on this one please?

My big ones came down today and asked about their phones on the ship. Dh and I use the 3GS, while they have 4G's. Is it JUST the airplane mode that stays on? Or do we have to keep them off the whole time? Yes, I know there's a thread somewhere, but I need regular english..can someone tell me EXACTLY what you go to in settings? And can you still cut on the phone to see the clock? Can you still play downloaded apps? I told my ds I didn't think so...but hey...:confused3 what do I know?

And is it ok to turn the phone on (or whatever) to text to find out if the animals are ok? Isn't that about .50 each time?

Thanks and pixiedust: to whoever knows all this electronic stuff!:worship:

OK here is what you do. As soon as the ship sails away from PC take ALL phones into the OFF mode and lock them in your stateroom safe. You will not need them. This is coming from a crackberry addict. :rotfl: On the Magic now you will find "Wave" phones so you can keep contact with the wandering family while on the ship. Just remember that if you lose them you will be charged big $$$. I do recommend you go to a local Target (say hi to Maureen while you are there) and buy a battery powered alarm clock. The staterooms are dark and I mean dark and do not come with light up clocks. The other option is to have a crazy person like me who is up a 5am every day :scared1: in which case a alarm is useless:lmao: This is your time to disconnect. There a lot to do on the ship and in 6 previous cruises have never been bored. The only thing that I do is to check my emails once a day. The internet speed makes dial up speed look fast so it is only good for reading emails.

You can find the life rafts on deck 4 outside on the walking/running path and on the secret deck 7 for to take pics of.

When it comes to my iPhone it goes into Airplane mode so it can't recive any type of call, text, or data. I do this so I can listen to the iPod. Now the big secret. My friend just got engaged on a illuminations cruise. She is a dis member and even though she is not on this cruise she like to take cruises vicariously through me. So that was the big secret. Time for some drinks.

Tips are now automatically included in the onboard acct.

See this: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...ZmYwNy00NzNiLWFlMjgtYmE3MThiN2Q1YzE1&hl=en_US

So unless you have made other arrangements this is what you'll find in your stateroom next Sat.

Am I the only person not happy about this?

On all but one of our cruises we have upped our tips so this is not doing us any favors and in fact is making it more of a pain as we have to make sure we get to them early enough to add to the tips before they print out the tickets. And that the tickets we get are correct.

People already have the ability to prepay tips.

I think people are worrying about this letter way more than they should be. Who cares. It is exactly the same as it always has been, except now they give you a letter on day one! LOL. I remember gettin a similar letter on our last cruise in 2009. It arrived with the tips form. Where they tell you what the customary tip is. Except they break it down differently but it equals the exact same amount.

Main Dinning Server for a 7 day cruise they suggest $28 total
Assistant Server for a 7 day cruise they suggest $21 total
Head Server for a 7 day cruise they suggest $7 total
State Room Host for 7 day cruise they suggest $28 total

Keep in Mind this is per person in the stateroom. This adds up to $84 per person or $12 PER DAY PER PERSON. Just because they place a letter telling you they are automatically doing this doesn't change the amounts.

I've been on other cruise lines and they all are automatically charging your tips. Disney is the only one that actually gives you the little envelopes to let your servers know what you have actually decided to give them AND they give you the option to increase or reduce the amount of the tip accordingly.

I for one like it and have no problem at all with it.

How exciting!! You did have us all on edge wondering what the big secret was that we would hear today! :surfweb: Enjoy the rest of your pre cruise fun!!

So what shows are we expecting on this cruise? :confused3 I was looking at my old '08 navigators and it showed Welcome Aboard, Golden Mickeys, Twice Charmed and Remember the Magic. Does this sound right? For some reason I'm thinkin I heard it will be different

Why not just add cash to the envelopes if you want to tip more? That way the ticket is right, but you've just added on.

The amount is the same as always. Having them automatically added to your room charge sometime during your cruise is not the same at all.

This letter will in your room when you board. The previous letter was left in your room the second to last night.

This is now making it a service charge and not a gratuity. If a person normally prefers to tip in cash they now have to go to guest services and have the charges stopped/removed so it is causing more work for the guest.
