Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Hi Everyone! I am a late arrival to this group b/c I just booked the cruise 3 nights ago. Couldn't pass up the 05b gty rate DCL was offering the Military folks. Then went to check my room # this am it was an 04B on deck 8!
I am a little over whelmed with planning. This is our 3rd DCL but other on RCCL and CCL.
DH and DS18 will be with me. Except will be picking DS18 up from college on the way to the port. :surfweb: We plan on leaving Valdosta, Ga at 0400hrs, stopping in Lakeland, FL to pick up the DS nlt 0900hrs and arrive at port NLT Noon.
(started this last night and never got it finished.)

Wow! Glad to have y'all aboard!:thumbsup2 And can't imagine getting to plan that soon to cruising, but what fun and excitement coming soon! We're all excited here, so glad you joined up!

And we have some other 'young adults' on this cruise so your son will NOT be alone! See ya soon!

:banana::banana::banana:

Well...we've had a change of plans in the last few days...

Originally we were planning on leaving DS (5mo) home with my SIL. I've been a little nervous about leaving him so young, but I've been looking forward to having adult time. We've been trying to get the little man to take formula (he has a strong preference for milk straight from the source...if ya know what I mean...) but with NO luck. He gags and crys every time formula gets near his mouth. Plus the thought of having to keep the 'milk factory' open for business every few hours for 8 days sounds dreadful!

So, with a few tears, worries of ruining everyones vaca, and a phone call to Daddy (LKShep), tiny DS is coming with us! I am so relieved. Yes, it will be an adjustment, cost more, and we won't be able to do a few things (Palo brunch:sad1:) but at least DS won't starve!

Also, called Continental/United today to ask about our flights because we no longer had seats assigned. The only seats available were spread out through the planes and DS (4yo) can not sit alone! Apparently we had a schedule change on all of our flights and were never notified! Shoulda gone with Southwest, right? ;):rotfl2: Good thing I called and raised a stink b/c we were bumped up to the seats with 5 extra inches of leg room at no extra charge! Woot Woot!:yay:

We can not wait for these next 2 weeks to fly by! So excited!

:thumbsup2 First of all, so glad you made your decision, and think on the cruise, you'll be glad you did. Leaving a 5 mo old, nursing baby would've been a 'deal' killer for me, and then having to worry about both sides of it, would've really done me in. So I think the peace you'll have will itself make your trip a wonderful one! And agree with Dan that you can still have adult time...
And SO glad you checked on your flights! That's a great reminder for all of us! Can't wait to see your little one! Glad everything is all worked out!
And by the way...moms do know best!:goodvibes

Doing the happy dance today...and the next 16 days!!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Congratulations on 27th years!!! There's no better way to celebrate than on the cruise. We did that in 2009 for our 10 year and our first Disney Cruise. It was WONDERful!! We can all celebrate together. We can celebrate your anniversary, our birthdays. Since I wanted my big birthday to slip by last year, we're celebrating it this year. The best part of my birthday is getting on the boat the day of my birthday and having DH and DS there with me to enjoy every minute of the Mickey Boat.

I may be wrong but can't you leave the baby in the nursery for a few hours while you are at Palo?:confused3 It wouldn't be that long...

Welcome aboard cmhand30!!!! Glad you could join us!!!!

Melissa and I got some good news from DCL yesterday. We have been upgraded!!! This is our first dose of DCL pixie dust.

So FE friends, please note that we are now in room 7616.

Can we make that change on the final FE list?

Cheers,
Josh

Thank you! Tiny DS is a big flirt with the ladies ;) I'm sure he'll be giving everyone gummy grins :rotfl:

I have suitcases out of the attic! DS will be packing for himself since he is away. I guess I will pack for DH since he has a broken wrist.
Went through my file of papers from the last cruise. NO door magnets to be made for this cruise, I am recycling!
Gonna find something else to do now.

I gave my DH a list of how many of each item of clothing he needs to bring and told him to have them all picked out by this weekend since I am doing the packing then. He doesn't want me picking them for him so I guess he will do it.:lmao: I have to do the weighing of the suitcase to make sure we are not over the limit with our FEs.:rotfl2: Of course then it is his job to pack the car when it is time to go.

FE PLayers!!

We are now down by 1 family. debbiechels had to cancel her trip and did not inform me until this afternoon.

So Tinkerbell2212: You can stop panicking:lmao: While I did not type her room wrong, it has been reassigned to your parents.

For the rest of us, that means at least those of us who have finished our gifts:rolleyes1 we now have an extra set of

welcome aboard cmhand30:dance3::yay::woohoo:

Glad you got such a great deal on the cruise:thumbsup2 Will add you to our little spreadsheet tonight and please send me any other info you'd like to share.

We are a laid back fun group. Enjoy your cruise with us:cloud9:

Don't ya love being married:thumbsup2

We picked up Richard's suits today and I KNOW that if I had not personally driven him to Today's Man last week to get them tailored it never would have happened:rotfl2:

And while he is allowed to pack his own suitcase I can guarantee you that i will double checking it the morning before departure so I can be sure that his holy shirts do not make an appearance on the cruise:rolleyes1

Don't EVEN know where that is..but don't care as long as she's on her way to see us 2 weeks from tomorrow! She's a pretty sight!

And Happy Fall Y'all!:thumbsup2 Yep, today is the first day of fall...I have an idea....let's all celebrate in 2 weeks and 1 day!!!

However, we have a new addition to our group, so perhaps that "extra" was really meant for them if they wanted to join the FE. Now no one needs to go back and make any new FE gifts.
