Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

With all this airline horror stories you all keep talking about, I'm glad were driving down. We are leaving Thursday for our 12 hour drive, gonna drive halfway stay in SC somewhere, then get to cape Canaveral sometime Friday. Honestly its like $1500 cheaper driving down rather then flying anyway! I hope everyone makes it safe and in time for our cruise!pirate:

Us too:thumbsup2

We're staying in Brunswick, GA on Thursday night and then to the port on Friday. I think all we save is TSA stress, but hey we'll take it:lmao: Where are you staying at the port? Rich and I are staying at CI&S.

Who's got the Chocolate factory link for St. Thomas?

Rich and I have finally decided on our plans for that port:cool1:

Using my Hilton honor points and staying at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa beach. We are going to go to dinner that night at Fishlips to see the cruise boats leave on Friday, that's where the webcam is in Port Canaveral. I don't think my 2 DD's have any clue how big a cruise ship is, so hoping to see one upclose the day before gets them even mire excited!

On Thursday night we are gonna stay in SC somewhere, not sure where yet.

Oh I'm sure they don't. I had never been on a cruise ship before 2008 and we were lucky enough that the Magic came up here for drydock before the trip. I had read about her being like 10 stories high i think it was, but until you really are right there, you have no clue just how big that is for a ship:eek:

The kids are going to be so excited when they see the ship for hte first time in the morning.

I know the last time we went we ate at Grills which also has a good view, the ships go right by that restaurant 2. I am undecided for this cruise as where we're going to eat Friday night.

I wonder which ships are sailing out on Fridaypopcorn::

Just had a look at the schedule for Port Canaveral:thumbsup2

There is 1 cruise ship going out on Friday night. RC's Monarch of the Sea is heading out on a 3 night Bahamas cruise. So definitely there is a ship to watch from Fishlips and Grills:thumbsup2

Good morning fellow cruisers.

Happy Saturday afternoon cruisers

Got some errands done, and gotta go clean the kitchen. before I do that I wanna know if any of y'all have done the Exotic Rasul?

Thinking of booking it, but can't decide on when to book it for, or just to wait until we're on the ship and see if they are running a special for it:confused3

Thoughts?

I recently stumbled across a page online that contains links to menus for all venues on DCL. It also has menus for theme nights, breakfasts, lunches, Palo, etc.

I'm not sure all the menus are up to date, but looking through all of this is a great way to burn a couple of hours and get yourself really excited for the food options on board. I gained a few pounds just looking at it.

Edited: Apparently the disboards didn't like the link I posted...oops.
Just Google: "Disney Cruise menus with food photos" and it should be the first link.

Near the bottom of the page on many menus are photos of the food.

Could you please post that the T-shirt signups are now CLOSED?

I sent the order off today:thumbsup2

Thanks

Done! (still having problems with the images but at least I was able to link them!)

I am sending some pixiedust: your way. I REALLY hope we don't have to leave without you.:sad2: I would be so scared to even attempt to come in that day.:scared1: I never have that luck.

Where are you flying out of? Philly or ABL(Lancaster I think)? And how early? Phily "usually" has good weather in early Oct. But since their summer has been so off, its hard to say. 1 of my friends posted this morning that Philly has gotten 12 inches of rain in the past month:scared1:

Pixie dust in your general direction:wizard:

Thanks! I think I'll make it alright. I have to leave my house at 2am to get to Reagan Airport in VA at 6am for my 8am flight. I should be arriving at MCO at 11:15ish am. I wanted to fly out of HIA (Harrisburg) but that would have meant a layover in Atlanta. Not taking that chance! If my flight even has the slightest delay, I should be okay. (I hope.)

I live about 20 mins away from Harrisburg versus 2 hours from Philly. I avoid Philly like the plague. I went to a concert there in June and Nicole and I got lost and had to past thru a ghetto neighborhood where all the doors and windows were barred. On the way home from the concert, we went a separate way and got lost. We passed thru a neighborhood where a car in the opposite direction drove slow enough to make it seem like they were scoping out a house to shoot at because of a drug deal gone bad. We made it back to our houses safe :worship: but the next morning found out there was a shooting in the ghetto neighborhood we had passed thru earlier that day. :scared1:Had I drove us back that way to come home, we would have probably gotten shot.

Philly got 12 inches of rain last night. :scared1: I was there :scared1: I am on Amtrak right now heading to BWI to get my car. The adventure continues. :happytv:

Wow. Poor Philly. I think Harrisburg only got by with a wee bit of rain. We have only gotten brief showers here and there lately. :cool1:

:confused3 What time is your flight that morning? Here's hoping pixiedust:, pixiedust: and more pixiedust: comes your way and NOTHING goes wrong. If it does, we'll all have to 'hold' the anchor until you get there...:rotfl:

:goodvibes Thanks!

My flight is 8am from Reagan airport in Virginia. Once my feet are resting on the footrests of the DCL bus, I'll be fine. Until then, I'll be holding my breath! I'm not even sure where to report for the DCL transfer. :confused3 Its already booked but I get lost easily.

Thanks goodness Nicole's neighbor has a son that lives close by the airport. She'll be driving us down that morning and will spend time visiting with him. One less thing to worry about. :cloud9:

It looks like the link is mostly censored.

OH, OH, OH! Looks like I can shoot for both Elizabeth Swan and a pirate! I'll fill in with picture bumps!! I'm far behind so I don't think its considering cheating while no one else seems to be around. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

My cat: Albie . He just looks like a dear little angel, doesn't he? He is good at faking it. :rotfl:

Ah, nuts. Photobucket is taking forever to upload a few of my pictures. Guess that is karma for me. :lmao:

Have you looked into BWI instead of Reagan Nat'l. I would think BWI is a whole lot closer and a whole less busy. We are flying out of BWI Friday night.

Yup. I was going to fly out of BWI but it was cheaper through Reagan. Also, my friend Nicole didn't want to miss too much of her classes while we were gone so we had to leave the day of instead of the night before. As nervous as I am about leaving the day of, it worked out for me so I have one less day of work to take off. :goodvibes
