Magic in a Winter Wonder World with 1,648 pictures

another great update--looks like you all had a great time in EP despite the so so weather. I hope you were able to get the softball game to go through.

:yay: for another trip!! Looking forward to reading about what you decided!! :goodvibes

How exciting---a trip in two days?

Like MeMom said, you may be surprised at how much you enjoy a trip with no kids. My DH and I went a few years ago for a long weekend for our anniversary. We flew down there on a Thursday night, and came home on a Sunday night. We had such fun. We just walked and rode what we wanted, and no one fussed about riding this or eating that. :cloud9:

First of all, lucky you!

Second, you might be surprised at how much you would enjoy a grown-up trip. My cousin and her husband went back on January for their 25th anniversary and just loved it! They ate, they strolled, they went back in time 25 years and just had fun with no one else to be accountable to.

Maybe you could have a couple of nights to yourselves and then the girls could join you? Can your mom bring them to you after a few days? Just a thought.

Congratulations on a new (and almost here) trip! :cool1:
I know I would enjoy it but I would feel very guilty. The girls love Disney so much and not taking them with isn't right.
I do like that idea. My mom has a friend in Orlando she can visit. I'll have to ask her.
GOODNESS!! I am so happy you get to go to WDW in 2 days  Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
Thanks for the banana!
I'll do a TR of the girls come but I probably won't if they don't! I think it would be too boring!!:goodvibes

The girls' team won regionals yesterday and now they're in the final championship tomorrow.:yay: It was our last day in the parks so we were just going and going.

:welcome: Michelle! Thanks for joining in.
If the kids did not come, the paste would be a lot slower. We'd go to Jellyrolls, walk around the BW, resort hop, and just relax. We'll go just DH and I one of these days.

You can definitely enjoy Disney without the girls! It will just be a little different. Go for it!

Today was a bunch of last minuting crazy-ness before the trip. This morning it was raining so hard!! We were on tornado warnings. I dropped the kids of at school and then went to work. When I was going to my next class, I saw lightning strike a car! There was aloud boom, a crackle, and then the car's alarm went off. After work I went to Sam's Club, to buy breakfast for the trip. Dollar Store, for ponchos (hoping we won't need these!) Walmart, Target, and Publix! Tomorrow I have to go to the bank in the morning after work. We'll be on the road by noon. We decided NOT to take the kids but we will take them in November for Thanksgiving and probably the second week in June. So Mitch, and I are getting weekday seasonal passes instead of the 4 day ticket.
There are positives and negatives about that.
Positives: We can park hop- much more freedom.
We can use them in June and December.
Negatives: We won't be able to go to a park Saturday which is fine. This isn't really a park trip anyway. It's a relax, resort hop, enjoy the BW, etc. I did book 3 dinner ADRs that we've never tried before.
They are:
Kona Cafe- I have heard great things about it. Looking forward to it!!
The Wave- I've heard nice things about this too.
Kouzzina - I haven't read a lot of ADRs but DH wanted it and it's right by our resort.
I'll do an update every day!
Gotta go finish packing. TR update coming later tonight!

Ooohhh, you're going to have so much fun relaxing and resort hopping. :thumbsup2

You'll have to let me know what you think about dinner at Kona. We have an ADR for dinner there in May. We've had breakfast there, but this dinner will be the first.

If I don't have another chance to tell you before you leave, have a wonderful and safe trip! :goodvibes

Have fun!! It sounds like it will be a great trip! And it's always nice to have some alone grown up time...if you feel too guilty, just bring them extra souveneirs! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the trip. I'll be sure to tell you call about Kona before your trip.

I did feel guilty and the kids were upset before but not anymore. They're looking forward to staying at my mom's house and having less rules. Also I was told that she'll take them to the beach for sunset a few times if HW is finished. (She's only 10 min. away from the beach)

A very quick TR update for tonight.
After Sum of All Thrills, we left Innovations and stopped for pictures.

Spaceship Earth had a short line, so we decided to ride.

It looks like I used the blinding flash in these pictures but I didn't. It was the I-dropped-my-keys-in-the-movies-I'm-going-to-use-my-cell phone-light flash.

Souvies
The girls made spent half an hour tonight looking at shopping pictures and on the Disney website deciding what they want. Here is everybody's lists.
Amy-
Minnie Mouse stuffed animal dressed as Tinker bell
personalized mickey ears or Safari Minnie stuffed animal. I know she would enjoy it better if she designed her own ears on the next trip so I'll go with Safari Minnie.
Tink ring-- Those little 3$ rings that Amy gets every trip but looses as soon as she gets home. I'll be getting a view of this.
A soap bar from Basin to share with Emily in their bathroom.
Peace Love Mickey pin
Amy necklace

Emily- Yeti stuffed animal
2010 hoodie-- we're sharing this and we already agreed on one.
refillable resort mug
pink mickey head keychain
silver charm bracelet with a charm.

Mitchell-
Mug
dinosaur. Every trip he gets one! They like to hang out in his office. Last May, when we were checking out the bellhop saw a dino tail sticking out of a bag and asked "Did you kids enjoy Dinosaur?" I replied "They loved it, but that particular dinosaur belongs to my DH.

The best for last
Me- The last couple of trips I haven't really bought souvies so I need to fix that
Mug
scrapbook paper from scrapbook store. Amy and I love to scrap
mickey ice tray
mickey cutting board (?)
summer glass set
magnets
disney pencils
keychains
I think I'm missing something.
Have a good night everyone. In 24 hours from now I would of eaten at Kouzinna and have seen Illuminations.

Have a GREAT time!! Resort hopping sounds wonderful. I still think you should do a TR. I would read :goodvibes

OH! Barbara!! I'm so stinkin jealous!! I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful time with hubby making some fun couples memories!

I wouldn't worry about no park day on Sat.- you have 2 more trips planned already. The decorations will be fun to see and you've got some fabulous plans for meals.

ENJOY!!!!!

Checking in one last time! We leave in 4 hours!!!!
Gotta go take the kids to school and then work for a few hours (it's an early release day.) and then the bank. Mitch has a conference at 10 and then after that we'll have a quick lunch and load the car.
Have a magical week!

Reporting live from Disney World!
Yesterday we left at 1, stopped along the way, and hit thick traffic. We got to the resort at 5 and checked in. Checking in we had MAJOR issues! Once in the room we unpacked, Mitch did some work, and then we went to the Dolphin counter service for dinner. We took a walk on the boardwalk and I searched gift shops for something really important that was left behind. We came back to the room, showered, and watched Stacy. Now, it's 8:20 and I just woke up. Mitch is getting up in a few minutes! This is clearly not a rope drop trip. We have plans to go to MK but we might not go to any parks this trip. We'll see. I think I'm going to call disney dining to see about a breakfast ADR at Cape May.
Have a great day everyone! I'll try to update tonight!

Hanging out, resort hopping, eating, strolling, shopping...I could make it without going into a park for several days, too. Right now, though, I'd have to go to Epcot for some Flower & Garden browsing. Have a great day! I'm sure you will. :)

:yay: for winning regionals! I hope you and Mitch had a great time on your trip. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Popcorn is a favorite snack of our family! I wonder if they have special buckets for MNSSHP nights...hmmm :scratchin: I may have to see about that.

How exciting for you to be at Disney right now! I hope you are enjoying your trip! :goodvibes:

Is the scrapbook store still open in DTD? Someone said it had closed so I am curious to know where and what scrapbook supplies you got since I am scrapper too!

Reporting live from the hottest place on Earth! We just got back to the room from mini golf. Now, we're going to the pool.

Reporting live from the Walt Disney Monorail System- Your highway in the sky! We're riding around the resort line and we'll get off at the GF.

:sad1:We're home. :guilty::sad1::sad1:
Now off to Walmart. Horray. I won't be seeing Disney busses, monorail tracks, mickey shaped signs, or fun disney merchandise going there and back.:sad1:
