After several hours on hold last week (on various calls), and being fortunate enough to get a Standard room with Free Dining at All Star Music... I tried again this morning. I was dialing about five minutes early, still half-asleep. Finally, the lines opened and after following all the voice prompts a Cast Member answered immediately... and I've got a room at Pop Century, checking in on 9/22!!!!

Don't give up! This promotion can be booked until June 24 - you never know when more rooms may become available!

I have been debating on whether to call and do the same. We were originally booked at the POP before free dining and ASMu was the only thing available when that promotion started.

What is it about POP that makes you want it over ASMu? I was very reassured by postings about ASMu and had decided that it was just meant to be that we stay there. Is there something I should know about ASMu?

This is our first trip (well my second but it was 20 years ago). We have no loyalty to anything hotel. Have you stayed at POP before or heard bad things about ASMu?

Please share with a confused newbie!

2 things....

For those that have not gotten booked yet or may want to switch...KEEP TRYING! Dont forget when someone books, that room is held 14 days till they make the down payment. No payment-no reservation. So at some point that room may open up.

Also POP....
I have never stayed at any of the All Stars for the main reason that they usually share a common bus. And with a tired small child not a feasible option to have to stay on the bus till last while it drops everyone off at the other resorts in the complex. Same thing goes for pick up, dont want to have to stand with all my paraphenilia early in the morning if my resort is the last to pick up. Plus POP is kinda sucluded and relatively quiet as budget hotels go. KInda off the beaten path so to say.

Don't be confused! I would have enjoyed All Star Music (I trust Minnie61650's judgement, and that's her favorite resort). A couple of very specific things made me keep trying for Pop Century. One, at least originally, friends I made there last year would be back - although now they're all leaving by the time I check in :( - and more importantly, my original reservation was there and I'm involved in a fridge swap (see the Budget board for more information) and didn't want to mess that up if I could help it.

Especially given that All Star Music's rooms should all be rehabbed/updated by the end of June, I bet it's going to be a great place to stay - and I promise I will someday!
