We were at American Adventure yesterday around 4pm, getting ready to leave for home after watching Voices of Liberty perform. This was our first time seeing them live and enjoyed it very much. We knew they are very talented, but man, what an experience to see them live.

Anyway, as we are leaving the show, me wearing my lime green DIS boards shirt, a fellow comments on my shirt and asks me my tag name. I tell him I am jimmytammy. I then ask him his tag name. My DW told me my mouth opened to a big smile as he tells me he is WebmasterDoc. She said the look I had was so funny she couldnt help but chuckle. It was that kid in the candy store look I think. He and his DW were at the show also and I guess my shirt sorta stood out.

Its funny cause just yesterday morning I was telling my DW how it would be neat to meet Doc. I knew he was somewhere in the World the same time as us cause he had posted some info about the OKW slide opening on Sat. And whats the chance of that happening unless planned.

Doc, if you read this, I want to say thanks for introducing yourself to us. As a DISer and DVCer, we look to you for so much valued wealth of info that you provide here. Hope to see you again. And it was neat to meet you and your DW.

Kind of like meeting Elvis, huh? Not that I've ever met Doc or Elvis ....... I think.

Isn't it fun randomly running into DISers? Doc is a great guy--I met him in Dec. 2003.

Wow, that is so great! Gives me the incentive to keep wearing my lime green ribbon for a few more trips. After this last trip, even with lime green Mickey heads all over the place (backpack, lanyard, suitcase) and several other DISers who were expected to be at the same hotel as me, same time, I was so discouraged. After at least 5 or 6 trips wearing lime green, it's only caused me to be identified be 2 people, one CM and one member (Hi, Chuck S) and it's helped me identify a few people I was already planning to meet ("We'll recognize each other from our lime green Mickeys). Isn't it great to meet other DISers?

How cool! My wife has met Doc and says he is as great in person as he is on these boards.

Umm Isn't Elvis dead? ;)

I have worn LG ribbons, LG nametags and such and been relatively unnoticed. DW bought us these tshirts from the DIS store and I wore it 2 days. In 2 days I got noticed more often than any time before.

I noticed several people wearing LG clothing but didnt know if they were DISers or not, so it kept me from approaching. When I have done that, I have been wrong in most cases, so I stopped. But having that identifying DIS logo makes people stand out.

I had several CMs ask and found out they were DISers also.

That is such a cool story. Being a newbie, had no idea of this green shirt. Gotta get me one so I can bump into some of you great people.

We have shirts??!! How'd I miss those? :magnify: I'd better go look again. I have purchased other DIS stuff hoping to identify us to our fellow DISner's to no avail. I've seen people with LG but not sure if it's DIS related and too hesitent to approach without clear DIS words visable.

Must have been awesome to meet Doc! I think I would have had the same response as you JimmyTammy. :goodvibes

I'm off to find us some of those Tee shirts!

We have had the pleasure of meeting Doc several times also. This past December, we were at WWTBAM play it, when who should get into the hotseat but DOC!! I recognized him from last years meeting. We caught up with him after the show.

Doc, I must say, you seem to go to WDW a LOT! :D

Its funny that you say that. My DW, usually quite, repeated the same thing to Doc in meeting him yesterday, that I had told her he must have 5000 pts to be able to go so often. I think Doc is just trying to keep us informed. I think my face turned a little red

It was great to meet both of you too! (We went back to enjoy VoL again today!).

I've worn my DIS mod shirt or lime green ribbon on many trips and rarely get any comment at all. On this trip, so far, I've seen and met two DISers just because they were wearing the lime green shirt. I got to meet mdonley on Friday because he was wearing his shirt.

Thanks for the kind words!

Elvis has LEFT the building! :D

We met mdonley this week, actually had the room right next door at VWL. Saw his shirt in line for the boat after MK closing, and DW and I speculated that it could be Doc, finally caught him on the way walk back to VWL and asked his name. Also met verandahman on the cruise the week prior! The shirts certainly make it easier to approach someone!

Hey There Mike,

It was great running into your and your family on the Magic as well!!! What a sweet family you have and congrats on doing your renewal vows aboard the ship.

I did something that I rarely do (in person I'm quite shy and quiet). At the MCO airport as we were gettig ready to leave to head home, my DW and I sat down in the food court to have a bite of lunch. My DW said to me, "Hey, those people two tables over from us have a blue DVC backpack, just like us." Well, I got up from our table and walked over between the DH and DW and said, "Welcome Home." The look on their faces was priceless. Here to find out, they had joined the DVC on the Magic the day before, and were at the DVC meeting on Friday morning, that we were at Mike. I asked them if they knew about the DIS and they said they had been lurkers, but didn't post. I told them they needed to sign up. Whether they did or not, I'm not sure, but I did give them my user name. So, if anyone is reading this that my DW and I met at the MCO airport, in the food court area, on Saturday January 8, 2005 please reveal yourself. It's great having a common interest with other Disney people!!!

Andy

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting LibertyBelle at the OKW front desk. She is just as vibrant and helpful in person as she is here on the DVC board.

You never know who you may run into at WDW!

Meeting DISrs is a lot of fun! Makes for a more memorable trip! Even DH is getting used to 'running into' DISrs while on vacation! He thought it was hilarious at first, but after this last cruise he understood more why I hang out here so much.

Melody, it was great getting to meet you and EB as well. We shared quite a few laughs around the dinner table, and on ship as well!!!

We are using some of our DVC points to stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland this coming August. What better way to celebrate my 50th Birthday, than at Disneyland, which will also be turning 50 this year!!!

Say Hi to EB for us!!!

Hey, don't go talking about Doc and Elvis in the same sentence. The tabloids will have a picture say Doc IS Elvis, or maybe JFK or who knows who?!!! LOL

Doc, you weren't Elvis in a previous life WERE YOU?

Now, tell me which DIS store in MA can we get these shirts?

When we were at the America Pavillion last October, I saw a man in a DIS shirt coming out of the Mens room as I was going in the Ladies room. Although I wanted to follow him...I am embarrassed to say that Mother Nature won! I quickly exited, but he was nowhere to be seen. That's the only time I saw anyone cleary recognizable as a fellow DIS'er. I also saw oodles of people wearing lime green but I think most of that was due to the color's gain in popularity over the last year or so.
