I'm fairly certain no one is purchasing food items for their FE gifts this early, but just in case...I have received several info sheets back from families who have allergies (nuts, dairy). Please keep this in mind as you are planning gifts. These families will be identified on the spreadsheet, a draft of which I will send out as soon as I receive everyone's information. Thanks!

FYI nut allregy includes moost candy even if it does not have nuts. Please check you labels. If processed in a factory that process nuts it is bad for them. Thanks

Has anyone stayed in Galveston before and can recommend a good hotel for staying the night before the cruise and keeping the car there while we are cruising? TIA!

There are quite a few decent hotels in Galveston that offer park and stay. Galveston.com is a good place to start and will say if it includes a park and stay rate. There a Comfort Inn and a Best Western that are decent for a nights stay, also Harbor House is right at the port and has a parking rate.

The Galvez has 2 sister properties. Harbor House is within walking distance of the port. If we want to swim, we take a free shuttle over to the Galvez. I have some friends who recently sailed out of Galveston on Disney and they loved the Galvez. Harbor House looks nice, but the Galvez looks amazing!

The Galvez is amazing, Harbor House is convenient but that's about it. The Tremont is a nice property also about a block from the port. It is more upscale than the Harbor House but not as nice as the Galvez in my opinion.

A few of us are staying at the Galvez. Their parking is gated and locked. Also there is a lot of history in that hotel. And it is haunted..... How cool is that?

Got yeah...so the cabin number they send you when you book online is not a guarantee? They sent us a email with confirmation when we booked and gave us a cabin number

If you booked a specific cabin, then it is yours. Some people book a Guaranteed cabin which assures them a specific category but not a specific cabin. They get notified of their cabin number closer to the cruise date.

I am a little lost about the FE, is there a post somewhere that has more specifics, i.e. how many people are involved, etc? I thought I saw one mentioned somewhere.....also did someone say they had directions for a non-stitched one? I have no sewing skills.

Thanks for forgiving me for overlooking my failure to officially join FE! I am heavily involved in doberman rescue, and the holidays are always crazy busy and I guess it just got away from me to keep up as closely Spay and neuter folks! Stepping off the soap box Now to start planning FE gifts!

Can I ask what area you do Dobie rescue in? We love Dobes also and have a Dobe that is a service dog. There is a trainer in our area that trains rescued Dobes for service.

Not at all cool!!! I had to specifically ask not to be given a room on the 5th floor. I prefer ghosts of the Haunted Mansion variety, thankyouverymuch.

Here is a question, why are the Internet rates so darn expensive on the cruise!? What is the chance my iPhone will have reception out there? Or am I facing crazy roaming fees even it does work?
