Sure! As of now, it looks like we have 15 cabins signed up to participate. There are 29 adults and 24 children [5 boys, 12 girls (2 of them teenagers), and 7 undetermined (meaning the reply simply stated "x kids" rather than boys or girls)]. I also like to start prepping in advance, so I'm glad you asked. I hope it helps! I will try to keep us updated on a weekly(ish) basis as the group grows! :-)

*** ATTENTION FE'ers ***

I just want to make sure I am keeping current on who has signed up to participate in the FE exchange. There are a few cruisers who have joined the thread but who did not specify that they are planning to do FE. Please check to see that your name is on the following list. If you would like to participate, but don't see your name, please let me know. Thanks!!

This is our second DCL cruise, so I was able to book activities Friday, Nov. 30 at 11 p.m. CST. We booked a couple spa activities; Palo brunch on the second sea day and Palo dinner on pirate night, which looks to be March 6, the day after WDW. We also booked some shore excursions: bikes and the stingray snorkel at Castaway; and transportation to WDW and the Illuminations dessert for DD and I and KSC for DH.
Transportation to WDW was available at 7:15, 8:15 and 9:15. We choose 8:15, which is the same time the transportation for KSC leaves.
I'm not sure about the Illumninations excursion. We've never been to WDW, but have done Disneyland A LOT. I'm assuming it's comparable to what they offer with the Fantasmic dessert and viewing package, which I've always wanted to do.
I did online check in on Saturday and was able to get an 11 a.m. port arrival time.

We are also doing Palo brunch on the second sea day! We booked our dinner for Key West night, in hopes that that will be lobster night - my favorite night to eat in Palo.

Isn't lobster night usually semi-formal night? What happens in Palo on lobster night?
We made a 6:30 reservation in Palo. Figured that would give us enough time to feed DD and get her to the clubs, have a relaxing evening for the two of us and then pick up DD in time for the Pirate show, which we've never really seen. Our only other DCL cruise was Alaska and there were no fireworks.
We might try and get a second reservation for dinner once we're on board.
Does anyone have any indication how booked this cruise is? I'm guessing not very with the KSF offer, but not sure just how wide open it is.

Hi folks,

Thought I'd jump in and say hi. The family and I are booked for the March 1st sailing out of Galveston. My hubby and I and DS (8) and DD (3). We're new to DCL but not to cruising and just LOVE that we can drive from Austin to Galveston and board for a fun trip sans air travel!

Counting the days already...

Yes, lobster night is normally semi-formal night. But semi-formal night is typically on the last sea day. In this case, the last sea day is the last day period, which means that night's dinner should be "'Til We Meet Again." I narrowed down the possibilities based on formal night, pirate night, and ports of call, and Key West was my best guess. Since we are the first group to do the 8-night itinerary and semi-formal isn't listed on our schedule, we won't know for sure. If I'm wrong, though, I'll try to switch onboard! The lobster prep in Palo is just (in my opinion) much better than in the MDR's. It must be because they are preparing it for fewer diners!

Pirate Night is a good night to go, also! We did that the first time we cruised. I think your timing will work out perfectly.

Hi, and WELCOME!

We are joining the party a little late but we're thrilled to be a part of it! We would like to join the Fish Extender group as well please. This is our first Disney cruise...I never really thought I could justify the expense but with KSF & a park day, I was sold!

We booked this cruise this morning... Very excited just got done sailing on the Fantasy November 24th! Amazingly we have done 3 and this will be our fourth so I decided to do research about FE and this is we're it has led me and we would like to be in on it!

Sailing with Dh Josh myself Crystal Ds Joshua 5 Ds Jace 3 and our in laws Dw Vicki and Dh Bill
We are super excited to return to the Magic!!!

Welcome MiceFan and McPharons! Glad to have more excited cruisers in the group. :) I will add you to the FE list!
Thanks!!!:grouphug:

So do most of y'all already have your Fish Extenders or do you plan to make them or will you buy it off Etsy or do you have some other plan? I'm planning to make ours...I hope it can last through the week!
Also, it looks like most of the ones I've seen pictures of have a separate compartment for each family member but do people usually leave a gift for each person or one per family? I thought about making ours with a slot for the adults and one for the kids. I don't want to have anyone disappointed that their slot is always empty...I'd rather not divide them up if it's 1 gift per family...I'll just have one big slot if 1 gift per family is the norm. Please forgive me if this has already been discussed...I read through the thread a couple of nights ago but it was late & I was pretty sleepy!
So excited!!! :goodvibes

I think we're going to do one gift per stateroom. Our FE has two slots, it has a Hawaiin theme as when I had it made we were going to be on the Oct. Hawaiian. I used ilvdisney2008 on Etsy and was very happy with it.

You are welcome! I got ours from Stiches n Bows on Etsy, and we love it! It does have three compartments, but mostly because I didn't want it to be too short. :-) I think it's perfectly fine to distribute whatever you'd like, however you'd like! On previous cruises, the FE gifts have varied from something for each person in the family, to items only for kids, to one gift per stateroom for the entire family. We loved them all! We personally will probably give one adults item and separate things for kids. But the items will be labelled, so it's ok if your hanger has only one slot.

Have you seen the threads for homemade FE pouches? I saw one a couple of years ago on here that someone made out of that decorative duct tape that's all the rage for little girls now. It was super cute!

Is anyone on here good with graphics? If we can come up with a logo for the group, I would be happy to make stateroom door magnets for anyone who wants one!

threewilmingtonwalls, I haven't seen the duct tape ones yet, my oldest would really like that. I'll check it out, thanks!
