Just received luggage labels etc for Magic Express transfer. Has anyone done this??

How long were you sat on the bus waiting for other passengers and how many stops did you make? Would you use it again or get a towncar?

Just got mine too!!A bit nervous as first time using it.Only have tags for first part of my trip,as 16 nights at All Stars then 3 nights at POR.So havent got my tags for return.Hope they come soon!!!

Im also now applying Annual Pass discount,so wonder if tickets will change - think the bar code relates to rooms!!!

Lynn :woohoo:

We've done it twice and really rate the service :thumbsup2

It is fabulous to know that DH can relax on the plane, have a drink and know he doesn't need to concentrate on the strange car and surroundings after a long flight.

It is an added bonus not having to lug the cases around after the first baggage drop off, too :)

The first time we waited about 2 minutes to get on the coach and then for a further 10 minutes or so before we left MCO. Our resort was the first drop off so that was excellent.

The second time we got straight onto a bus and waited about 15 minutes to leave. Our resort was second drop off so both times were very painless.

I recommend the service wholeheartedly, especially while it remains free :)

We used the service last year and also found it to be excellent. We didn't wait very long at all, and our resort (Pop Century) was the first drop off point. Our luggage arrived in our room 2 - 3 hours after arrival.

We used the service for the first time after having a town car the first two trips, and it was great! We used Garden Grocer for the first time as well since we didn't have the grocery stop anymore and we will continue to use them in the future as their customer service was top notch :thumbsup2 !
We flew with Virgin and got our own bags which wouldn't have been a problem but even though I had read the thread that described where the Magic Express station was we couldn't find it! There were no signs as I had read and the few people we asked gave really vague directions so after going outside and running about, finally we found it. Phew!

Minnie I am so jealous of you, having such a lovely long trip ahead! Cool! Regarding the tags, we didn't receive ours from our TA so she had to arrange an email for us quick like but that worked well. For our return, when we checked into the Pop we were told to just inform them at the guest relations desk and so we did and they booked us in, no problem! So you can probably just book it when you check in at POR.

Have fun!

Hi can anyone tell me more about ME? I want to take my luggage with me as i don't want to wait to have it delivered to the room. Has anyone else done this is it ok? Also how easy is it to find the ME check in desk, is it sign posted? :thanks:

hi
I would also like more info, were flying virgin, but are staying at dvc ? so can we still use it?

I'm flying Virgin next week and staying at DVC and am using ME. You just need to book it through member services. You can take your luggage with you to the bus - just remember to give the driver a bigger tip as he will have extra work. The welcome centre is now on the B side on level 1 - think that is the side we always used to get luggage from but on the ground floor. Don't think there are folks directing you until you get down to that level. I'll find out next week how easy it is!

You can collect the luggage yourself and then get on the coach with it, no problem. It's very easy to find the desk (though it was much easier when the CMs directed you with the Mickey hands ;) )

We used it a few weeks ago and due the fact we didn't get to MCO until 9pm we decided to take our bags on the coach so that we could take them directly to the room.

It is very easy to find - if you have hired a car from MCO before it's just along from where the hire desks are. As Miffy said there are Disney meeters and greeters to tell you where to go

There are no meeter's and greeters, none, zip, not a one. There are no signs. There used to be, but not anymore.

We've used ME on three trips now and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for our coach to leave MCO. Although we are flying Virgin, we book ME direct on-line with our hotel confirmation numbers or via MS if we are staying DVC.

On arrival at MCO, we pick the luggage up from the carousel, take it through customs and then deposit it to be taken to the B luggage pick up. ME get it from there, whilst we just head off to the ME check-in and get the coach.

We have never had to wait a really long period for the luggage to be delivered to the room, but just in case it takes a while, I tend to pack swimming kit in the hand luggage so we can relax in the pool even if the luggage hasn't arrived.

On the way home, we still take ME from the hotel, but we take a taxi to DTD to dump (sorry, check-in) the luggage at the early morning Virgin check-in desk, and then have an un-encumbered day before heading to the airport on the coach. Usually we spend the day at the resort swimming and chilling and then either dump the swimming kit in the trash or put it in the dryers in the laundry for 30 minutes before packing it in the hand-luggage. The early Virgin check-in means that we already have our boarding passes so the airport is also a more relaxing experience.

The main thing is to trust the system -- if you do, you can relax without lumbering around with your luggage. If you can't trust the system, or are one of life's born worriers, then you can still carry the luggage through the airport to the ME counter and know that your transport is taken care of. It's a win-win situation.

There were two at MCO by the baggage carousels when we arrived at 9pm on 14th December. One had his big Mickey hands on and a ME sign and they were directing people down to the ME check in desk

Does anybody know if M E picks up from Sanford aswell please?

It was all smooth from MCO ,but may fly to Sanford on next trip!

No, it only uses Orlando Airport at the present.

I got on the bus and it was only a minute or two and the bus started, it went to POFQ first so didn't stop anywhere else. Would I use it again, I am planning on doing it much easier, and you can drink on the plane!!!!!

Hi:)

We were booked onto Virgins transfer service but as it's all run by Mears they put us on ME. Unfortunately we had to wait about an hour (watching Mary Poppins:thumbsup2 ) before setting off and were about the 5th drop off. All in it took about 3 hours to get to CSR from MCO.:headache:

This year we are booking a towncar. We're not there long enough to waist that long on a bus.

Think we may have just been unlucky.

:goodvibes

You can get Alamo or National from the Disney Car care centre - very easy and they will pick you up from your hotel.
