I've got a rental car and a few extra pieces of luggage (SIL/BIL coming with us) that i'd like to have ME'd over to our hotel. How exactly does that work? I know i'll get the luggage tags, but do i just put them on and once they are loaded from my departure point i no longer have to worry about luggage until i arrive at hotel? Do i have to retreive my bags from destination baggage claim and then place them somewhere?

Thanks in advance. :goodvibes

My understanding is that you cannot have your luggage transported via Magical Express unless you actually take the bus.

Tara is right. Disney specifically says that DME is NOT a luggage-only service. The luggage handling is a perk of riding the bus.

For LOTS of DME info, go over to the Transportation forum and read the various "sticky" notes at the top. You can also go to the official WDW site, enter "Magical Express" into the search function, then click on the first link from that search -- it's a DME FAQ.

Thanks for the info Eric. After a bit of searching i finally found what i was looking for. In all of the excitement of just landing my package yesterday at an AWESOME rate, i kinda went cuckoo for a bit. I'm finally starting to come off of my high and can actually think straight. I mean, i started 2 threads which were moved to the right place as i just had a brain-fart and had two random questions pop right up without even rationalizing my thoughts and going to the right place. Oh well, as usual, :disrocks: .

You could always do a bit of an experiment.

Say you have 6 people. ME allows 2 bags person. So split your party into two groups. Have 3 take ME and 3 take the rental. Tag all (or most) of the luggage with the 3 peoples tags who are riding ME. I believe that you will have to check the bags in at the airport under these 3 people though. Then, have those 3 ride ME while the other 3 gather any other luggage (should there be any) and pick up the rental. See who gets to the resort first.

Puffkin,

I like the idea of the experiment you propose. It's always good to have facts.

On a personal note, I noticed a few similarities. Number one, our cats are identical twins (Russian Blue, I presume). Number two, I see you live in Reading. For about 3 years I lived at the corner of Hampden Blvd. and Union St.

We did just that 3 female on Me

I checked them in and put them in line

DsF and I went to Dollar Express line got van .

We arrived with-in 5 mins of each other at SSR. They beat us as I never really entered SSr from the gate before.

This DEC trip we are all taking ME and will pick-up a car at the Dophin or a DTD hotel.

We don't know what Lilly is since she was adopted through a pet organization. The vet thinks she is at least part Russian Blue, but we don't know for sure. As far as Reading, I know exactly where you mean. I live in Muhlenberg Township (Temple area) but my parents recently moved right off Hampden Blvd. right outside of the City limits.
