magic express -- package and baggage tags not arrived

We leave a week from this Sat. and have yet to receive our magic express package. Our TA has called several times and we're on "the list". Our TA says that if it doesn't show up that it's ok that we can collect our luggage, then just go to the magic express pickup area.

Does anyone know if this holds true and experienced it themselves? How about a phone number.....anyone have one that I can call myself!! One of our papers we got from our TA mentions something about some bright yellow tags to put on our luggage for magic express. Just want everything in order and to run smoothly. We originally were supposed to be at WDW this week, but had to move it because of my husbands job. Wonder if that caused a problem.

Your Disney’s Magical Express reservation has been made; however, you may not receive your Disney’s Magical
Express booklet with luggage tags prior to departure for Orlando. Please be assured that you will still be able to
utilize the service and receive the same seamless experience.
Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, you have two options:
1) You can pick up your luggage at baggage claim and proceed directly to the Disney
Welcome Center. You will be responsible for taking your luggage with you on the
motor coach.
2) Or you may proceed directly to the Disney Welcome Center. You do not need to claim
your luggage. Disney will gather all of your information and collect your luggage for
you and then deliver it to your resort room.
IMPORTANT: Please pack any valuables, medications or anything needed immediately upon arrival into Orlando in
a carry-on bag.
Arrival at Orlando International Airport. Upon arrival, please take the tram from your gate to the main Terminal
and proceed to the Disney Welcome Center which is located on the B Side on Level 1 and bypass baggage claim.
If you arrive on the A Side, please proceed to the B Side before taking the elevator or escalator down to Level 1.
You may follow the airport signs to Ground Transportation.
At the Disney Welcome Center, please present your airline baggage claim checks to the Disney representative
to confirm the number of bags* checked as well as your return flight information. You will then board a
complimentary motor coach that will take you to your resort. Your motor coach may make up to 3 stops before
arriving at your resort.
Luggage delivery to the resort. Your luggage will be claimed at the airport and delivered to your room. Your
luggage may take up to 3 hours after you check-in to be delivered. You do not need to be in your room to receive
your luggage. Please note if you take your luggage on the motor coach it will not automatically be delivered to
your room.
Returning home. You will receive a Transportation Notice the day prior to check-out advising you of your motor
coach pick-up time and other general information. Your motor coach pick-up time is based on your
flight departure and will be approximately 3 hours prior to that time to allow for multiple stops by
the motor coaches.

Yes - do as your TA suggested. Last year we didnt get our tags either, we just grabbed the luggage and went down to the express area and they took care of us.
 
You can have your TA check to see if they sent them out (your TA should get them before the trip) and if not, have them put a rush on them.

I would not pick up your luggage. Have DME take care of it. When you check in at the airport they ask if you put on the luggage tags. If not, they ask to see your claim tickets, ask how many pieces, and what they looked like. If you put something that would stick out (like a colored ribbon) on all your luggage, it is would be easy to say. ex) The black suitcases with the red ribbon.
 

Thank you for the quick replies:thanks: Does anyone have a number to the Magic Express reservation reps, so I can call today and see if I can get our tags expidited. I would be so much more relaxed about it all if things happened the way it was expected.

One more question.....if we don't get the tags and we do claim our own bags and go to the ME buses with our luggage they will still stow it under the bus for transportation to the resort, right? We won't actually have to lug it onto the bus with us? This could be horrible with kids!!!

You can try calling but your TA actually 'owns' the reservation, so they may, or may not, talk to you. Here is the phone number for DME ....866-599-0951.
Because your TA booked the trip, and technically owns it, the DME packet will be sent to them, they in turn have to get it to you...that can take extra time. So, be sure the TA office doesn't have it already, just sitting on someone's desk.

You have several choices if you do not get your packet, with the yellow tags, in time for your trip.
You can head to baggage claim yourself, and get your own bags. Then bring them with you to the DME welcome area. The bags will then be stowed underneath your bus. Or...
go directly to the DME welcome area and check in. They will ask if you have checked bags, you can then give them your luggage claim receipts and a description of the bags and the number of bags. They will send a DME employee to baggage claim to get the bags and they will be put on the DME luggage truck for resort delivery.
Now...if you allow DME to transport your luggage, you can expect it to arrive in your resort room up to three hours after checking in at your WDW resort. If you were to get your bags yourself, and bring them with you to the bus, you would have immediate access to them at the resort. You would bring them to the bus, then the driver would stow them all underneath the bus and then offload them at the resort.
 
Thank you so much! I feel so much better. If I don't get the tags in time I'm not going to stress about it all. I think we will just collect our own luggage and take it to the bus ourselves to be stowed underneath. This way we will have quicker access to our bags.

I do know that our travel agent doesn't have them. She has talked with them herself on our behalf 3 separate times. She's verified we're on the list and has told them to send the packet directly to us instead of her, so hopefully it will show up between now and the time we leave.
