We are planning a trip to Disney this May. We are doing a land/sea but are planning to arrive 2 days early to do Sea World. We are renting a car when we arrive (for the first two days) and staying at a hotel near Sea World for the first two nights. The day our land/sea package starts, I'm hoping to drive to the AKL, check in and spend the day there, and then return the car to MCO in the evening. My question is...will it be a problem for me to ride the Magic Express back to AKL from the airport even though I've already checked in???:confused3
Thanks!

I wouln't think so, as long as you have your ME tickets & they haven't been used. I don't think the day's matter, you get one trip from & one trip to the airport with ME.

if you rent from Alamo or National you could set your drop off up at the S/D on the Dolphin side and not drive all the way back to the airport.

Yes and no.

You are entitled to a ride from MCO to your resort on the day you are checking in to that resort, and a ride from that resort to MCO on the day you are checking out of that resort.

It's perfectly legitmate to tell DME that you want a ride from the airport on the day you are checking in to AKL. However, intersting wrinkle concerning the fact that you ALREADY CHECKED IN AT THE RESORT. I'm not going to speculate, this is well past my knowledge.

In any event, I think paults has the right idea.

Thanks for the help and ideas. I checked into Alamo and National. Unfortunately the prices are three times as much as I found at Thrifty (to pick up and drop off at MCO)! :worried:

I've used DME successfully after checking at our WDW resort, but on the same day as the check-in.

Before trying this, I called DME Reservations and told the agent exactly what I would be doing to make sure it was okay. I was told I could only do this on check-in day. They would not have allowed me to do this if we had wanted to keep the car for our first few days while staying at our WDW resort.

We arrived in Orlando 5 days early to spend time with family elsewhere in Florida. On our WDW check-in day, I dropped my family and luggage at our WDW resort (after stopping at a grocery store). My family immediately checked in and had bell services bring our luggage to the room. (Yes, they tipped the bellman because we weren't using the DME luggage transfers as designed.)

I then took the rental car back to Hertz near the airport. I took the Hertz shuttle to the airport. And I took DME back to the resort. No problems.

(I would have had to pay a much higher rental car rate for a "one-way" Hertz reservation picking up the car at the airport and returning it at the Hertz Kissimmee-WDW location.)

Thanks so much Horace! That's exactly what we'll be doing...arriving two days early and returning the car on the day of check-in at Dinsey. I'll call to confirm, but its wonderful to hear that someone else has done this without problems.
