Magic escort?

I was just wondering if the Coast Guard and harbor police are still escorting the Magic and Wonder out to sea from Port Canaveral. Our last cruise was 10/01 and there were multiple boats around the ship as we left port. There also was a Coast Guard helicopter. I'm figuring all that security was only due to 9/11 just occuring, but is there still an escort?

Yes, they are still escorting the ships out of the port, and this will continue indefinitely.

Just back from the Sept 7 Eastern & had an escort in St. Thomas as well. Small Zodiac type with 3 coasties aboard, 1 with the rifle in plain sight and a full cutter standing in the bay as we departed - this was on Sept. 11 so it may have been an extra precaution . . .
