We booked the October 14, 2006 Double Dip to Costa Maya while on board the April 2, 2005 Eastern, and the on-board sales CM said the Magic would be in drydock the first two weeks of October 2006. She must have been looking at 2005 at that particular time, according to what this thread shows. Good--I really had a tinge of buyer's regret afterwards, thinking I would be on the first cruise after a drydock and not wanting to deal with new things that perhaps still needed a bit of fine tuning.
Re: the deck 9 and 10 comment, I hope they get some form of inclement weather access to Pluto's. Our cruise had the downpour wash-out of CC while docked (which was a let down but all in all it was still our best cruise ever), and you could get to Scoops in the rain because of the deck 10 overhang, but for Pluto's you had to get soaked and then your food had to be brought through the rain. I have always found that to be a design flaw, and just short sightedness I suspect, so hopefully they give that a covered access.
If they are going to add a retractable roof to a pool for potential west coast/alaskan purposes, I think it is a good long term addition, I just don't know enough about ship's architecture to know if that can be done in a relatively short dry dock.
It will be interesting to see what changes get made.
