Magic deluxe ocean view stateroom 9c help !

Hi any ideas or experience what happens when the room you book says this "choose guarantee" as the choice of room is not able to be chosen ? It says we will get a deluxe outside stateroom but will it not be on 9c deck 2 will they place us elsewhere ? Not keen on being placed on deck 1 for the price we paid as deck 1 was cheaper :/

A guarantee room is when the staterooms on that cat are sold out, however they know x% of people will cancel or move their reservation on, so you will get that Cat or better.

You would not go down to a lower Cat of room, only the level you book or better.

Yep, since cabins on Deck 1 are 9D's you would not be placed there (even though there is nothing wrong with Deck 1). If you booked a 9C you will be assigned a cabin in either a 9C or a higher category like a 9B or a 9A. You won't know your cabin until about 30 days before your cruise.

Usually you will end up in a higher letter category like described here, but occasionally, you will be upgraded further. I booked a 7a GTY stateroom and was placed in a 5c. It was a nice upgrade.

Thank you for all your replys, deck 1 would of only bothered me due to price as it was cheaper so I thought I would be paying more , but great to no that I will either get 9c or a higher category upgrade , do they tell me online what room we have been given 30 days before or do I have to call them up ? Thanks

Your stateroom number will appear one day on the DCL website on your reservation and the number will be on your cruise tickets.
