We are booking our first trip on the Magic and are trying to decide between verandah rooms on either deck 6 (#6540 or #6576) or deck 7 (#7056). There is little price difference - somewhere between $130.00 and $200.00 in the decks and all these rooms are somewhat midship. But I am wondering if I should spend the extra $200.00 to be on deck 7 - I know the lifeboats are on deck 5 .... do they interfere with your enjoyment of your verandah in any way? :confused3

Please help...wanna book soon.

Thanks.

We prefer midship so if you can save $200 for adult beverages or something else, then choose the less expensive one. princess: Happy Cruising!

We actually prefer deck 5 veranda rooms. The life boats do not block the view. Less traffic on 5 and lower cost!

We always stay on deck 5 too---for the reasons you stated DL1957 & the kids clubs are on deck 5 w/ the movie theatre! Thanks for the added info!

We've stayed on Decks 5, 6, & 7 in verandah staterooms and love all locations. Never had an issue w/ lifeboats blocking our view or anything like that. So I say save your $ to spend on other things while on the cruise.

HTHs! :thumbsup2

I like any of those decks...and while I get why people like midship, I always get a cabin close to the stairwell....makes getting places a happier experience for me and I never find it particularly noisy.....then again, I'm in the cabin to sleep, only, and change clothes. At this point, I'm all about getting the best value.

I completely agree with the above. I've stayed on 5, 6, and 7 and there is no real difference. I actually like 5. The lifeboats don't interfere with anything and they are on deck 4 (suspended above it).

We like Deck 6 midship for the very reason that there are no cabins right beneath us, so if the kids stomp loud, then it won't disturb someone beneath them (though they don't usually do that - besides an occasional coming off the top bunk louder than they meant to). We also like going down to Deck 5 to cross over from the back of the ship towards the front without having to go by rows and rows of cabins (we stay near the elevator lobby).

Either deck is fine. With kids, we prefer 6 over 7 (but love deck 5 for access to the clubs)

Just be aware that room 6576 is fairly close to the self service laundry room (that could be a plus or a negative or a non issue depending on your point of view) - its about 7 rooms away on the opposite side of the hallway.

Laundry is on deck 6 opposite room 6588 and deck 7 opposite room 7590

I'd go with the cheaper. All things consider, who really cares if you are one level up or down. You are still on the ship and cannot escape.

This is a truly fantastic perspective.

When the Kraken comes....and mind you it will come.....your muffled screams will be as senseless on one deck as any other.

Enjoy your cruise!!!!

:thumbsup2

If I may put my 2cents in the only thing you have to be careful with deck 6 is the theater the sound of the curtain rising and falling made for a interesting sound in our cabin. I'll take deck 7

Exactly.. If you in the front, the beast will eat the front first. If you are in the back, the beast will decide he doesn't like the churning water from the propellers and eat the back first. Of if you are in the middle, he'll break the ship in two, one for each tentacle and pretend its an oreo cookie and each the soft creamy middle.

The Walt Disney Theater is on Deck 4, so I don't see how that makes noise all the way up to Deck 6 staterooms. The Buena Vista Theater is on Deck 5, so is that the theater you're referring to in your post? The ships I am referencing are the Magic & Wonder, btw.

So what we're really saying is that when it comes to certain death and destruction, the view really doesn't matter.

Bon Voyage!

we had room 6598 and it was perfect.
we were in 7092 and that was great too. but for 200.00 less, I would take the deck 6 cabin. save the money for drinks and photos! :)

The machinery for the curtains are on deck 5 every time the lowered or raised the curtains it sounded as if the were lowering a lifeboat. I will stay on 7

After a full day of activities, my kids will sleep through anything. i'm on deck 6 above the front theater. I know I won't hear it. I cannot hear my wife talking to me next to me, much less equipment below me.:rotfl:
