Magic cruises Dover to Barcelona August 3-10, 2015

We stayed in Poblenou area in newly opened Travelodge. Was spotless, near beach and only cost us 60 euro's for 3 nights in a family room :-)

We stayed in the Novotel last year and it was really good, for the four of us. Near to shops, transport and the girls loved the pool on the roof. Swimming pools at hotels in Barcelona are quite rare apparently?

Hotel Jazz is centrally located and has a good pool on the roof.

We stayed in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat at the Aparthotel Auto Park. Also had a nice pool on the roof. A little out of the way but convenient to the airport and right on the metro.

:confused3Where has everyone gone?:confused3

I know it is a long time until the cruise :hourglass but there must be something we can talk about.

I just noticed that Pirate night is Day 6 (Gibraltar) this was the same day as our Med cruise last year.

Pirate night on day 6 will be fab. Good time to round off with the party.

Can't believe it's over a year away and I'm excited already.

Just out of interest as we've never been on a cruise before; how on earth do people keep their children going until things like the pirate party (9:45pm)? And a lot of the shows seem really late. Do the kids just naturally seem to adjust? or do you end up with REALLY grumpy kids? Just trying to work out how ours might react. I know in WDW they wouldn't normally make it to fireworks time, but there was a lot more walking there.

How old are the kids when they go on the cruise?

I found when I went last year, seeing the kids, they were having fun and doing lots of activities, which I think will give the kids no time to think about being tired.
The Fireworks onboard was amazing to watch and the kids just seemed to keep going.

However if worried about tiredness / grumpy, maybe take them back to the room to relax / nap for an hour and then be recharged to continue.

Whether this helps at all.

They are going to be 7 and 4 by then. Hopefully they will just deal with it like the other children seem to have done.

We will have an almost 5 year old and a 1 year old.

I know with our daughter she will just carry on.

Does anyone else wish they would change the Pirate Night to another theme? This is our 7th cruise since 2005 and we've had Pirate Night (including in the Baltic and Alaska) on every one of them.

I don't think the children will be your problem lol, You will probably have to drag them out of the clubs. I remember the first cruise with our daughter, club after breakfast...prise her out for dinner and back into the club between starters and main course. We would then collect her fast asleep, laying on the little roll beds after watching a Disney movie in the club.:thumbsup2

I presume everyone is busy preparing for this years cruise/vacation. Once we get
this years trip out the way, planning will begin full steam ahead.

We still plan on organising a coach for this cruise from London, if the interest is there from the boards. pirate:

We are planning on coming into to London for a few days sightseeing before our cruise so we would be interested in the coach to Dover. Thanks!

The pirate night is not really ideal. The third straight day of touring and then 9:45. A lot of kids will not make it. Kids need a certain amount of sleep they can not do without. I can't see my 8 year old making it.

That is probably going to be our plan also!
I'll say it was great having the coach all organized last time, Paul! It worked out great!

Rachelsmom97 & Caropooh can you confirm how many seats you require on the coach London to Dover please? I already have Dizney73's request.

I have just generated a spreadsheet, so adding names etc..

I will post a message similar to on my other cruise to see if anyone else needs transport to port.:thumbsup2

PRIVATE COACH FROM LONDON TO DOVER

Planning on organising a private coach from Central London to Dover Port for £20 per person (roughly US$30pp)

Please send a Private Message to ReadingFC (Paul) or my DW Celestine if you would like to sign up.

(Caropooh can you copy and paste this on Page 1, so all new viewers see this. Thanks)
